Synopsis:Harper Richmond inherited a locker room full of trouble upon her father’s death. She got a womanizing pitcher, a forbidden office romance, and a balance sheet in the red. As if that wasn’t enough, she needs a new manager—pronto. With her contacts exhausted, she turns to Pamela Jones for help only to realize Pamela doesn’t run an employment agency—she runs a marriage brokerage. With no other options, Harper agrees to a business marriage in hopes that Pamela can work her magic and find the man who will help her maintain her father’s legacy.
The St. George Redrocks are ripe for reorganization and Isaac Wolfe is ready to take on the challenge. He’s been married before, and didn’t particularly enjoy the experience, but for a shot at the big leagues, he’d marry a turnip. Only Harper isn’t anything like a turnip. She’s warm, inviting, smart, and treats Isaac’s son like a member of the family. The more time he spends with her, the more he realizes a year-long marriage isn’t going to be enough. But, if they can’t work out their differences when it comes to managing the team, then they’ll lose everything important before the seventh inning stretch.
My Review: 4 Stars
A baseball team. That's what Harper's father left her in his will. Is this for real? She's got no clue what to do with a baseball team! But that doesn't stop her from keeping her father's dream alive. She will do what she needs to in order to honor him. Even if it means schmoozing the team womanizer, dealing with sleazy reporters and being snubbed by those who think she doesn't belong with the Redrocks. She'll show them! Enter in Pamela Jones, BMB extraordinaire!
Jobless. That's how Isaac finds himself after doing what he knows is right for one of his baseball players. But doing what's right isn't going to get the bills paid, put food on the table or get clothes for his son Logan who is in the middle of a huge growth spurt. So what's a guy to do? Man up and take Pamela Jones up on her offer of marrying a billionaire.
Due to past relationships, both Harper and Isaac have a hard time trusting and opening up to others. But they will need to if they are going to be successful both on and off the field. They definitely have their work cut out for them but the more time they spend together, the more they realize that maybe, just maybe, Pamela knows what she's doing. ;)
Harper and Isaac are definitely one of my favorite couples in this series! I enjoyed watching their relationship develop. I found myself giggling, getting frustrated and letting out little dreamy sighs throughout the book. I absolutely adored Logan! He was such a fun addition to the story. I wish he would've been more involved though. It would have been awesome to see his and Harper's relationship develop more rather than it just suddenly appearing in the middle of a chapter like they were thick as thieves. I also would have loved an epilogue! Especially seeing Logan's reaction to his dad's and Harper's relationship lasting far beyond the contract.. ;) Oh! And I would have LOVED seeing Jackson get what was coming to him. The man deserved the absolute worst! Lol.
Another awesome read by Lucy McConnell! I am so glad that she had the idea to do this BMB series! I have loved every single one that I have read so far! Super cute and fun!
And of course... what review of mine wouldn't be complete without the casting. So what do you think? ;)
