Paige has always felt like the odd man out when it came to growing up in her dysfunctional family. When it comes time to head to college, she does the complete opposite of what her family wants her to do. With the help of her beloved Aunt Mitzi, she goes as far away as she can to the college she has always dreamed of going to. She put Bella Port in her rear view mirror and had zero plans to ever return.

That is until her Aunt Mitzi passes away unexpectedly leaving her the sole heir to her millions! Now she must return to Bella Port, face her family for the first time in years, beat down all the rumors the old gossips in town are spreading, find her place in life and finally, FINALLY take her turn. All while running the book store her aunt also left her and trying to figure out how to stop Mitzi from meddling with her love life from the grave.

And who might dear Aunt Mitzi have chosen for her darling Paige? Why Sam Kennedy, the most eligible bachelor in town of course! *dreamy sigh* Sam was one of the very few people who really saw Paige for who she was growing up. He made her not feel so invisible and even made her feel pretty. But what's a girl to do when said man is dating one of the biggest drama queen's and gossips in town? She sticks to her "I'm totally fine with being single. I don't need a man in my life." attitude. But little does she know that Mitzi and fate have something else in store for her.

While Paige and Sam didn't get off to the best of starts, various circumstances have them coming together and gives them a chance to rebuild their friendship. But the closer they become, the more Sam pulls away. Paige doesn't understand why and does her best to distance herself from him. But the harder she tries to stay away, the more she is drawn to him. Could Mitzi be right after all? Or is Paige heading for the ultimate heartache in falling for Sam? With Mitzi in her corner, she shouldn't be thinking of anything else but a HEA. After all, Mitzi has never been wrong before. So why start now?! 😉

Oh how I loved all the letters from Mitzi! They were one of my favorite parts of this book! Everyone needs a Mitzi in their lives! She was there to lift Paige up during the hardest times of her life and letting her know that she is loved, she is beautiful, she is amazing and she deserves all the happiness that life has to offer. 💗

This book is definitely a roller coaster ride when it comes to your emotions. Holy. Hannah! You will laugh, you will get angry, you may even growl a time or two, you will get teary eyed, you will want to Gibbs slap AND strangle certain people! But, in the end, you will be letting out little dreamy sighs and be wearing a grin of complete contentment when Paige finally does indeed, take her turn. *le sigh*

Ms. Peel is definitely the queen of sucking me in and not letting me go until the adventure comes to an end. I have to admit that she spoils me. I know I never have to wait too long before reading her next book. She is seriously an AMAZING author! If you haven't read any of her books yet, you are definitely missing out! Really... you are! I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

And of course there's my casting! I just have to tell you when I shared this with Jennifer she told me she pictured the same heroine. YAY! I love it when that happens! What do you think?

Hello new series! Maple Valley features the Montgomery brothers who made their appearance in SEAL's Promise. Five single brothers, all former military and all apart of the Sheriff's department in the small town of Maple Valley? Wouldn't you be screaming for a new series?! I know I was! But y'all... 

What in the world just happened?! Holy crow Batman! Talk about intense and on the edge of my seat! Every time I went to put the book down to get a few things done, something happened in the book to make me keep reading. I was just about to put my book down for the night and finish it in the morning when all of the sudden... PLOT TWIST! After that, sleep was the last thing on my mind. I just HAD to know what happened!

I'm sure everyone knows by now that small town, second chance romances are one of my all time favorites. This one did not disappoint. Emma knew, and David hoped, they would be reunited again. I really enjoyed getting to know Emma and David and watching them rekindle their relationship. You could tell from the very beginning that the time they spent apart only made their feelings for each other grow stronger. I loved that they both did everything in their power to not only take care of each other, but protect and love each other fiercely. They're definitely some of my favorite characters. 

And speaking of favorite characters... I loved seeing old friends from both the Fortress Security and Otter Creek series! I think that's one of the things I love most about Ms. Deel's books. We always get to see characters from her previous books. I love seeing how their HEA's continue. I also loved the setups for more books in the Maple Valley series. I can't wait to read them! But I'm secretly hoping that we'll get Rafe's book next. I have been dying for his book!

Ms. Deel knocked this one out of the park! It's definitely one of my favorite books of hers and I'll be rereading it many, many times. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

As for my casting, it was a bit hard with no descriptions so this one was all me. What do you think? Personally, I love them! Haha.

Faceoff by Rebecca Connolly

My Review: 5 Stars

Confession. I know absolutely nothing about hockey. I have never even watched a game. The closest I got was watching an episode of Leverage that featured a hockey team. But that didn't stop me from enjoying Faceoff.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that loves when a book can sweep you off your feet and give you that much needed break from reality. That's exactly what happened while reading this book. The friends to lovers trope is becoming one of my favorites. There's just something about that friendship turning into something more that has this girl letting out all the dreamy sighs. I may or may not have had one of those permagrins while reading. 

I adored Bree and Clint. Their fun, easy going vibe made it easy to relate to them. I enjoyed watching them strengthen their friendship before moving on to something more. I loved that they were willing to support each other in every detail of their lives. Big or small, they were there for each other. They did what ever it took to make sure they were both happy. And the chemistry between these two?! Off the charts from the very beginning. All I can say is... that first kiss?! WOWZERS!

Can we just take a minute to appreciate all the side characters?! Loved them! In my opinion they were the extra icing on the already perfectly iced cake. I can tell you that I will definitely be reading the Belltown Six Pack. And am I the only one that wants Penny to have her own book?! She would definitely be a fun one to read about! Haha.

Y'all believe it or not, this is my first book by Ms. Connolly and I can already tell you it won't be my last. I have no clue why I waited so long to read one of her books but I'm definitely glad that I did! I can't wait to read more by her.

Christmas with You by Jess Mastorakos

Their fake relationship seems to solve both of their problems. That is, until unexpected feelings arise. With his deployment looming, will they figure out that they're meant to be before they find themselves half a world apart?

Have you ever started a series that is so good that you wish someone would create a “pause life” remote so you can stop everything and just read? That’s where I’m at right now. I want to sit in my comfy chair with my hot cocoa and sweet treats and just read. Life can be tough when you don't want to adult. 😉 

If you follow my blog, you know that I am not a fan of the fake relationship trope. But since all the books I've read in this series have been amazing, I thought what the heck. Let's give it a go. Y'all Ms. Mastorakos is making a liar out of me! I ended up loving this book! I guess I just haven't been reading the right authors. 😉

I absolutely adored Cooper and Angie! Their bantering back and forth had me giggling and made me root for them even more. I loved watching their relationship develop from kinda enemies to friends to something more. Both of them had been in a bad relationship and were so focused on not falling into the same trap again that they didn't realize they were falling in love. They're definitely favorites of mine. 😊

And can we talk about Grandma Jean for just a second? Y'all she was the best! She was always up to something when it came to Cooper and Angie. Sneaky and full of mischief. I loved the role she played in getting them together. It was perfect!

Christmas with You was a great addition to an amazing series. If you're looking for a fun series to escape into, I highly recommend this one. I'm going to have a major book hangover once I finish this series. I am so glad that I discovered Ms. Mastorakos! Her books are just what I needed right now.

My Review: 5+ Stars!

You guys. I am speechless. Where do I even begin with my review? What can I say that's going to do this book justice? 

I knew going into this book that Brock and Dani's journey was going to be intense. But I was not prepared for it being wrought with so much pain and heartache. But with pain, comes strength. With ugliness comes beauty. With heartache comes love. This book is phenomenal! Here it is, days later, and I'm still thinking about everything Brock and Dani went through to get to where they are. Their love is a love worth fighting for. A love that was put through the refiners fire to become the most beautiful love they could ever imagine. Their story will stick with me for a long, long time to come. 

I can say that, without a doubt, the Pine Falls series is definitely one of my favorites. It's so real, so raw, so beautiful. I have fallen in love with every single one of the characters. I'm excited for Brant and Kinsley's journey. I have a feeling that theirs is going to be the toughest one of all. And I'll be right there by their sides, encouraging them and hanging on every single word. 

I am in serious awe of Ms. Peel's talent. She has an extraordinary gift when it comes to telling her stories. From the moment you start reading her books, you are transported to the setting of that book where you live, eat and breathe with her characters. You feel every single emotion that they feel. You will laugh with them, cry with them, celebrate their triumphs, mourn their losses and cheer them on as they fight for their friendships, their love and their happily ever after.

There is so much more I could say about this book. But this is one of those times where less is more. My advice to you would be to grab a box of tissues, have a pint of cookie dough or your favorite comfort food on hand, open your heart, open your mind, let yourself feel, just be. It's not going to be easy, but it IS going to be worth it.

The Enemy by Sarah Adams

Have you ever had one of those weeks where you're stressed to the max, frustrated and all you want to do is run far away from it all? That has been my week. Since I can't really do that, I did the next best thing. I escaped into a book and lived vicariously through the characters. It was just what the doctor ordered!

When it comes to enemies to lovers tropes, there's nothing better than a sassy, feisty heroine and a determined, sexy hero. June and Ryan fit that bill to a T. From the moment these two laid eyes on each other, after years of being apart, the sparks start flying off the pages. All I can say is sit down, strap in and hold on tight because you're in for a wild ride!

One of my favorite things about reading is when I feel connected to the characters. It only took a few minutes before I was transported to Charleston where I was sitting at a table in Darlin' Donuts with June and Ryan, listening to them tell me their story. We instantly became besties and I had a front row seat to a beautiful love story that has been in the making for years.

You can't help but fall in love with June and Ryan. Between their pranks, witty banter and tender moments, I found myself laughing (or giggling) out loud and letting out little dreamy sighs throughout the book. I was rooting for them from the very beginning and I had the hardest time putting this book down. I had to stop myself from pouting and stomping my foot when I had to actually adult. Work schmerk, right?!

The Enemy is the perfect addition to the It Happened in Charleston series. I loved seeing and catching up with the Broaden family. I think this series is one of my favorites of the year. I will definitely be rereading this and The Match over and over again. They're the perfect getaway from this crazy thing we call life.

Ms. Adams has definitely become one of my favorite and auto-buy authors. I already know I won't be reading any kind of synopsis before one-clicking her books. I love when an author can make me feel all the feels and gives me that much needed break from reality. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

My Favorite Moosetake by Jacqueline Winters

Confession. Alaska has never been on my list of places to visit. Something about the below freezing temperatures doesn't appeal to this girl. But the more time I spend in Sunset Ridge, the more I want to visit one day... as long as it's in the summertime. 

I'm not going to lie, I was a bit hesitant to start Tessa's story. The woman is stubborn, set in her ways and kind of scary. She was so focused on her career that she didn't realize, until the reality TV show, life was passing her by. She had forgotten about the 17 year old girl who not only fell in love with but planned out her entire life with the handsome Liam. She forgot about the girl who used to be close to her sisters. She forgot about the adventurous girl who knew how to live life to the fullest. She might not know how to get all of that back, but she sure is going to try. 

Liam never forgot his first and only love. Making the decision to join the Army so Tessa could live out her dream was one of the hardest decisions he has ever made. But he knew it was the right one. He didn't want her to resent him later on in life. He knew, if it was meant to be, fate would bring them back together one day. When he heard that the Whitmore girls had reopened the lodge after their aunt's death, he knew it was time to put his plan into action. The man pulled out all the stops and didn't spare any expense when it came to winning back the woman he loves. 

*dreamy sigh*

My advice? Grab some chocolate, curl up in your comfy reading spot and let yourself be transported to Sunset Ridge Lodge. This was a fun one! I can't wait to read it again. 

And I just have to say... gotta love that Ed! He made their first meeting in 13 years very memorable. If fate was an animal, it would be Ed the moose! Haha. And Raven! I loved that sweet girl! I've never owned a dog because I am not a poop picking up kind of person but I wanted her to snuggle up to me while I was reading. I'm hoping that we get to meet more dogs in this series. 

Y'all, I absolutely adored this book. It was a great addition to this series. I loved seeing old characters and meeting new ones. I can't wait to read Sophie and Denver's book next! I have a feeling theirs is going to be my favorite of the series.

After only reading two books, Ms. Winters has joined my autobuy list. I'm really looking forward to reading her other books. And I'm still wondering why it took me so long to read them. Silver lining? I now have several of them to read!

I had plans today. Plans to get up bright and early, go for a walk, make breakfast, shower and get ready to run errands that I didn't do on Saturday. Before I climbed out of bed, I decided that just one chapter wouldn't hurt... and then I could get on with my day. Famous last words for this Book Dragon! Here I am, 5 hours later, sitting in my pajamas and curled up in my big chair after finishing this amazing book. What do I have to say for myself? I am so glad I decided to read instead of be an adult! I can always adult later, right?!

Oh how I loved this book! I couldn't devour it fast enough. Y'all this book as all the feels... and I mean... All. The. FEELS! You want to laugh? Get teary eyed? Feel the frustration for the characters? Sit on the edge of your seat feeling the anticipation and needing to know what happens next? Not want to put the book down? Because that is exactly what happened to me while reading this book!

I absolutely adored Charlotte and Ryker and found myself routing for them from the very beginning. I loved watching their friendship grow, watching them open up to each other about their insecurities, learning who each other is and what makes them tick. The love these two felt for each other was palpable. They were determined to put each other and their love before anything else. I love that in couples!

This book was the perfect ending to an amazing series! Even though the series is called "Faking It" and I've been swearing off certain tropes for over a year now, I'm definitely glad I took a chance on all these books. It's definitely fun and one of those series that I'll be reading over and over again! 

Y'all Ms. Ray is a phenomenal storyteller and I'm so glad I stumbled upon her books! Not only has she become a favorite of mine, but also an auto-buy for me. I can't wait to read more of her sweet reads!

My Review: 5 Stars

I should have known that the moment I started reading The Work of Art, I would not want to do anything else until I finished it. 

From the very first page I was swept away to London living my life right along side Philly. Oh how I adored her! She was kind, gentle, always looked for the good in others, was quick to forgive and was the ray of sunshine in everyone's life. What I loved the most about her was, she didn't see herself as any special person, nor did she think that she was beautiful. She was just Philly. She was brought up to believe that what's on the outside does not matter, it's what's on the inside that counts the most. 

And what's an amazing heroine without an equally amazing hero? Arthur is not your typical hero. I quickly fell in love with him as well. He was quiet and broody but when it came to Philly he was fierce and protective. He was determined to keep her safe no matter what. There were times when he struggled with whether or not he'd be able to protect her, but when the person you're in love with is in danger, nothing will hold you back from being who and what they need.

I loved the relationship between Arthur and Philly. There was a connection between them that only grew stronger the more they got to know each other. Watching their relationship grow from friendship into something more was beautiful. These two were absolutely perfect together.

The only thing I felt was missing was an epilogue. There were one or two things that I personally didn't feel were resolved. But then again, I'm selfish and when I read an amazing book, I never want it to end!

Whenever I read one of Ms. Matthews books I know I'm going to feel all the feels. She is an amazing author and I can't wait to read more books by her!

I'm one of those people who do not have a bucket list. But if I did, I would definitely add visit Cornwall on to it. Every time I read a book in this series, I'm transported to the beautiful seaside where I live and breathe everything Cornwall.

From the moment I met Sophia and Frederick, I was excited for their story. But after the first chapter, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to like Sophia or not. I quickly learned that I was not. She went from being the sweet person Frederick rescued on the beach to the person who is the complete opposite. I was with Frederick when he took an instant disliking to Sophia. She was a snob and pretty much thought the world should revolve around her.

But when tragedy strikes, and Sophia's family loses everything, she's thrown into an unknown world. A world where she realizes that she's no longer welcome among those of her previous class. As Sophia tries to navigate her new life, she'll learn some valuable lessons. Lessons that will have Frederick thinking twice about who the real Sophia is and if she's someone that he can see himself with.

But when Sophia's life takes another turn, will she choose to go back to who she used to be? Or will she choose to be the person she's become?

In true Hathaway form, I was made to feel all the feels. I enjoyed sitting down and strapping in for the emotional roller coaster of Sophia's and Frederick's lives. The lessons they learned on their journey are ones that we all can learn as well. I loved the realness of this book. I loved the reminder that even though we're flawed, it doesn't mean that we are not valuable, that we are not cherished. This book was just what I needed right now. It gave me the hope and peace that I have been seeking.

For the Lady of Lowena is another winner by Ms. Hathaway! I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

The Dear Wife by Jennifer Peel

Where do I even begin with reviewing The Dear Wife? This book deals with very hard, very taboo subjects. Pornography and the loss of a child. I know this book is not going to be for everyone, and that's okay. But Ms. Peel is one of those authors who does an exceptional job when it comes to writing about the hard stuff. I can't explain it, but there's just something about her writing style that makes it easier to read about the hard stuff people face in real life.

We know from the previous book that James and Avery were going through something difficult. I didn't know what it was but I have been dying to find out their story. I'm not going to lie or sugar coat anything. Their story broke my heart into a million pieces. I have never cried so much while reading a book before. And don't even get me started on how angry I was. I didn't know how or if James and Avery were going to be able to fix all that was broken between them. There were times that I was encouraging Avery to just walk away. She didn't deserve to be put through everything that she had been.

But as the story progressed, and Avery not only started finding herself again, but started believing that things could be better, I found myself slowly... ever so slowly... having a change of heart about James. But, just like Avery, I was cautious when it came to the possibility of them getting back together. James's story is the prime example of how no one really knows what demons someone is facing on the inside. Their journey definitely was not an easy one. They both had to be willing to do whatever they could to make changes and strive to be better not only as a couple, but as individuals as well.

It doesn't matter what kind it is, addiction is hard. Whether you're the one going through it or you're watching a loved one go through it. It's not something that you can just get over. It takes a lot of blood, sweat, tears, courage, strength, determination, and love to face whatever it is you're facing. Everyone deserves a chance to overcome it and have the much needed support from their loved ones to face that long, difficult road to recovery.

As I said before, Ms. Peel knows how to write about the hard stuff. I can always count on her to make me feel all the feels. If you read The Dear Wife, buckle up and hold on tight as you embark on the biggest emotional roller coaster you have ever been on. There's no question, it will be tough, but this is one of the best books she has ever written! I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next!

Romancing the Rake by Nichole Van

Wow! What a fantastic addition to the Brotherhood of the Black Tartan series! How fantastic you ask? Well, lets just say I already want to read it again!

Lady Sophie is a rather unique and quirky heroine. But you can't help but love her from the very beginning. Lord Rafe is one of those heroes that you instantly love. Put the two of them together and sparks start flying off the page. They were truly perfect for each other. Not only did they balance the other out, but they loved each other for who they were on the inside... quirks, insecurities, family drama and all. I couldn't get enough of these two!

Watching Sophie and Rafe navigate through their trails and tribulations and trying to figure out their relationship was not easy. I'm warning you ahead of time. You'll feel all the feels! I found myself laughing, getting teary eyed, seething with anger, shocked, and letting out little dreamy sighs throughout the book.

From the moment I started Romancing the Rake, I did not want to put it down. All the twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat and trying to devour the book as quickly as I could. The time I spent away from the book was absolute torture. I found myself sneaking in reading time whenever I could. I may or may not have gotten irrationally angry when real life kept me from finishing the book as fast as I wanted.

Ms. Van is a phenomenal storyteller! I can always count on her to whisk me away to the setting of her book where I'll live and breathe with all the characters until the very last page. It's no wonder that she's a favorite and an auto-buy author for me.

The Story of Us by Teri Wilson

Synopsis:

My Review: 5 Stars

Jamie and Sawyer were high school sweethearts. 15 years ago, Sawyer broke off their relationship before he left for college. To say Jamie was heartbroken would be an understatement. She held onto the hope that he would return home after college, but it never happened. 

Now here they are, face to face, after all these years. They both had longed for and dreaded this moment. Everything was going fine until Jamie discovers that Sawyer works for the very company who's trying to buy out all the shop owners in the business district so they can tear everything down and replace it with a monstrosity of a building. 

But Jamie refuses to go down without a fight. She will do everything in her power to not only help the shop owners to see that Waterford is rich in history that shouldn't be destroyed, but help Sawyer to see that this new building is not what their small town needs. Help him to remember all the things he loved about their small town and to see where he's belonged all along.

When I woke up this morning and looked outside, I thought spending the day reading would be absolutely perfect. So, I curled up in my comfy chair, grabbed my kindle, and was transported to the small town of Waterford, OR.

I instantly fell in love with the small, quaint town and it's characters. The descriptions of everything and everyone had me feeling like I was right there, living and breathing in the story. I got a front row seat to the magic of love.

I absolutely adored Jamie and Sawyer! I'm a sucker for second chance romance, so I was rooting for them from the very beginning. This book was just what I needed today. 😊

Confession. I have not watched The Story of Us. In all honesty, I have not even seen the advertisements for it (as you can probably guess by my casting 😂). I'm one of those people who enjoy the book more than the movie. Why? Because I have the opportunity to be inside the characters' heads. To know their thoughts, their ideas, their struggles, their fears, their feelings. It's not something a movie can easily portray. Having said that, I know that after reading this book, I'm going to be able to enjoy the movie so much more.

My first book by Ms. Wilson was a hit. I'm looking forward to checking out more of her books.

And of course we can't forget my casting. I know... I know... these are not the actors in the movie, but it's who I saw the entire time I was reading. Haha.

My Review: 4 Stars

Thomas Finchley's life has to be in order. Everything has to be planned out down to the very last detail. He's a creature of habit and finds solace in the monotony. Nothing in his life could have ever prepared him for the likes of Jenny Holloway.

Jenny Holloway's life has never been her own. She's always had to do the bidding of her father and brothers. When she finally frees herself from their clutches, she swears she'll never let another person have that kind of hold on her again. 

When Jenny approaches Tom informing him of her plans to travel to India, Tom does the unthinkable. On a whim, he plants himself in the middle of Jenny's adventure. He tries to justify it as him protecting and helping her through her travels. But the truth is, he's never met anyone like Jenny before. He's drawn to her and that scares him. 

Throughout their journey, Tom and Jenny do everything they can to fight the growing attraction between them. But it proves to be stronger than either of them imagined. They will need to decide if they're going to continue living their lives as they always have or if they're going to take a leap of faith to see if there's a HEA is in store for them. 

A Modest Independence was slow going for me. I really wanted to love it as much as The Matrimonial Advertisement, but it fell a tad short for me. I absolutely adored Tom. He was the shining star in the book for me and the reason I liked it as much as I did. He had so much patience and understanding for Jenny. She's definitely stubborn and set in her ways. I found myself wanting to shake her and tell her to wake up. 

All in all, I did enjoy this book. I loved seeing Justin, Helena and Neville again. I can't wait to read the other books in the series. I'm extremely curious about Alex's story. 

I'm so glad that my bookish friends recommended Ms. Matthews to me. I've loved all the books I've read so far. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

My Review: 4 Stars

Holy. Crow! I’m going to preface this by saying I have never read a thriller before and had no clue what to expect. This book was definitely outside my comfort zone. But one of my goals this year is to branch out and find new authors.

Kate had watched her father die at the age of sixteen. From that moment on, she knew she was destined to follow in his footsteps and join the CIA.

Several years later she finds herself interviewing with the CIA. Once the week-long interview process was complete, she receives a letter to join a secret branch of the government that no one knows about.

It wasn’t long before she noticed that things were not adding up. But there wasn’t anyone inside the organization that she could turn to. She does the unthinkable and reaches out to the one and only person on the outside that she knew she could trust.

Together they make plans to uncover all the secrets that the organization had been keeping. They both knew it would be dangerous and, if discovered, Kate could lose her life. But that was a small price to pay if her death could save thousands of lives.

I’m not going to lie, I had an extremely hard time getting into this book. I liked the very beginning of the book, but when Kate went to the training facility, I kind of lost interest. There’s a lot of information in the first half that I didn’t feel was necessary. I was a little over halfway when the book started picking back up and had me at the edge of my seat. There were so many twists and turns that I did not see coming at all. My advice would be to not try to figure anything out. Just go with it.

The romance in this book is very minimal, which is why it’s out of my comfort zone. I’m not used to reading books where the romance is put way on the back burner. I did want a little more of it so it could combat the intensity of this book.

I did enjoy this book and I’m curious enough to read the next book in this series. But now I have my eyes open and know what to expect. I’m looking forward to reading more books by Ms. Clayton.

And of course we can't forget my casting. Not going to lie.. this one was kinda hard. Haha. What do you think?

Country Hearts by Cindi Madsen

Synopsis:

With them, Jemma discovers the good things about country life, from starry skies to s’mores cooked over a fire. But she still misses her past life in the city. Is there any reason for them to dream of a future together?

My Review: 5 Stars

Jemma Monroe heads to the small town of Haven Lake to take a temporary teaching position after she was laid off. She didn't quite know what to expect from the small town but she was up for the adventure. And boy did she get one! Where else would you answer the knock at the door to see a horse standing there? Or be in the middle of teaching and have a slithery, forked tongued vistor make an unforgettable entrance? Or meet a handsome, yet grumpy, cowboy that gives you butterflies?

Wyatt Langford has sworn off women ever since his wife left him and their daughter, Bailey Rae. He never wants to experience that kind of heartache again. Nor does he ever want to pick up the pieces of his precious daughter's heart after someone leaves them yet again. But he can't deny the pull that Jemma has on him. He'll just have to do his best to stay as far away from her as possible because his heart isn't the only one on the line. 

Staying away proves to be a problem, especially in a small town. The more Jemma and Wyatt get to know each other, the more time they want to spend together. Throw the adorable Bailey Rae into the mix and they all start feeling like they're a family. 

But Wyatt can't forget that Jemma's time in Haven Lake is only temporary. He'll have to decide if he should push her away once and for all or take a leap of faith to see if maybe, just maybe, they can become the family they all have been longing for.

For those of you that don't know, I'm a sucker for small town and single parent tropes. And when you put the two of them together in the same book, I'm instantly hooked and can't wait to read it! 

I'm happy to say that Country Hearts did not disappoint! I instantly fell in love with Jemma, Wyatt and Bailey Rae and couldn't wait for their story to unfold. I could not get enough of the banter back and forth between Jemma and Wyatt. I found myself busting out laughing and enjoying every minute of it. Add the little matchmaker, Bailey Rae, into the mix and there's no way you aren't going to love this book.

And I absolutely adored Haven Lake! I felt like I was transported there and I didn't want to leave. I wanted to curl up in Havenly Brew and watch life unfold around me while I'm nibbling on all the yummy treats and trying the new, fun drinks. This was the perfect book to curl up with on a quiet weekend. 

This is my first book by Ms. Madsen and I'll definitely be looking into reading more of her books. 

And of course I can't forget my casting! I pretty much saw these two from the very beginning. What do you think?!

Margaret has been hurt by love in the past and has sworn that a marriage of convenience is the only way to protect her heart from being hurt again.

While attending a matchmaking party, she meets Mr. Northam and decides he’s the perfect gentleman for her marriage plan. But she soon discovers that Lord Gregory Williams is against the match. He sets his own plan in motion to protect Margaret.

However, Margaret is done being “protected”. She wants what she wants, and no one will stop her from getting it. But the more time she spends with Gregory, the more she starts second guessing what she truly wants in a marriage.

Can things be different with Gregory? Will she be happy in a loveless and lonely marriage? Or should she follow her heart and marry for love?

You know that saying, never judge a book by its cover? Confession. I totally judge them! The cover is what draws me to a book in the first place. If you have a beautiful cover, there’s a pretty good chance I’ll be clicking on your book to see if it’s something I would enjoy. Well that’s exactly what happened with Promised. Isn’t this cover gorgeous?! After reading the synopsis, I was hooked. I just HAD to read this book!

And I’m happy to say that it did not disappoint! Even though Margaret was beyond stubborn at times, it did not stop me from falling in love with her and Gregory. From their first meeting, the chemistry was off the charts. I found myself rooting for them from the very beginning.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that this was Ms. Garriott’s first book. For me, it did not read like a first book. I was captured from the first chapter and had a really hard time putting the book down. I was not happy when I had to put the book down and adult. I’m definitely looking forward to more books by her.

And of course, I can’t forget my casting. I absolutely LOVE these two! What do you think?
