For this month's Author's Corner I am going to choose...

Heather Horrocks

USA Today and Amazon bestselling author Heather Horrocks lived overseas for her first seventeen years, waterskied through an oil slick in the Persian Gulf, partied with a Kuwaiti princess classmate, hid under the bed with her mother during a South American coup, flew in and out of the blacked-out Cairo airport mere moments before it was bombed during the Six Day War, rode a camel (and ate a camel steak), and crossed the finish line first at Utah's Miller Motorsports Park.

I discovered Heather Horrocks when we read one of her books for our book club. It was super cute and I absolutely adored it! I have continued reading her books and I have loved them all! It's hard to pick a favorite so I decided on one I recently read. It was adorable! 

WHEN CUPID TAKES AIM — YOU’D BETTER RUN! 

Julia Murphy is yearning to find her vampire lifemate. When she meets an attractive cowboy and his adorable daughter, she tries to take a step back from what she's feeling, but ends up drawn to the pair anyway. Fate wouldn't be so unkind as to have her lifemate be a human, would it? 

Texan Luke Bridges is starting to realize his daughter is ... different. He arrives in Moonchuckle Bay determined to visit his deceased wife's family and get a diagnosis for his daughter. It's not exactly the right time to meet the most beautiful woman in the world, but, as always, fate seems to have a sense of humor. 

Love's path is never easy, but a biting vampire puppy and a cupid run amok? And when a villain intent on ruining Halloween targets Luke's daughter, can they join forces? Or will their expectations keep them from seeing the happily ever after right in front of their noses?

My Review: 4.5 Stars

Julia Murphy is about to do the unthinkable. She's going to go looking for her lifemate. She's come to the conclusion that he's just not in Moonchuckle Bay. But before she can go off looking for him, she must first break the news to her father. And just like she suspected.. he's none to pleased. He goes as far as telling her to check out Beaus and Arrows.. the new matchmaking company in town. She refuses to have cupid hit her with his arrow. She's determined to find her lifemate on her own.

Luke Bridges can no longer ignore that there's something wrong with his daughter, Ella. After all, how many six year olds do you know that can shoot confetti star glitter from out of nowhere? He knows that he'll need to head to Moonchuckle Bay, where his deceased wife is from, to get the answers he needs. But the more research he does on the little town in the middle of nowhere, the more he starts to wonder if it's such a great idea. 

When Julia and Luke meet each other for the first time in the middle of Town Square, they are both drawn to each other. Julia feels the lifemate buzz she's been longing to feel. She can't believe that she's finally met her lifemate... until she realizes that he's human. Luke thinks that Julia is the most beautiful woman he's ever laid eyes on. But after his disastrous marriage to Ella's mother, he has no plans of ever getting involved with anyone again. Both try their best to stay away from each other but fate has something else in store for them. 

Throw in a cupid who can't hit the broadside of a barn, a biting vampire a dog, and a rogue vampire determined to ruin Halloween and life is about to get beyond crazy! Julia and Luke will need to work together if they're going to avoid a disastrous outcome. And if they happen to fall in love and get their HEA along the way, then maybe fate really does know what she's doing. 

Cupid Misses the Mark is a super cute book! Once I started it, I didn't want to put it down and ended up finishing it in a couple of hours. I adored Julia, Luke and of course little Ella! I really enjoyed watching these three get their HEA. And of course the setting was fun! I am really enjoying the Moonchuckle Bay series! If you like sweet, light paranormal books with a chuckle or two and a bit of romance, then I highly recommend this series!

I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every single book of Ms. Horrocks that I have read. Her books are always a fun escape. I can't wait to read more of her books! 

And of course we can't forget my casting! These two are perfect in my opinion! What do you think? 

The Artist Cries Wolf by Heather Horrocks

Synopsis:

Moonchuckle Bay ... Movies ... Monsters ... Magic!

My Review: 4 Stars

Moonchuckle Bay... home to movies... monsters... and magic! 

Amber is on the run from a stalker and headed to Moonchuckle Bay. She not only needs to hand deliver a letter to Samuel, her deceased twin brother's best friend, but she also needs to find out once and for all if the feelings she has for Samuel are real or if it's just been a four year long crush. 

Samuel is beyond surprised to see Amber waiting for him on his doorstep. But one look at her and even his guilt over her brother's death can't keep him away. Especially when he discovers that she's in need of protection. His inner wolf is screaming that she is his mate and there is no denying his wolf. 

But outside forces are at work to keep these two apart. Can the connection they feel for each other be strong enough to keep them together? Or will everything prove to be too much and send Amber running again? If Samuel has anything to say about it, she will be by his side for a long, long time. 

This was such a cute, light paranormal romance! It was the perfect Sunday read. I really enjoyed the setting and will definitely be heading back to Moonchuckle Bay for more! 

And of course I can't forget my casting. We all know how much I love this part... ;) Hehe.
