Loving the Ladies' Man by Kristin Canary

Synopsis:

In the story of love, sometimes the best plot twist is the office flirt you didn’t see coming…

I never thought I’d end up falling for the last guy in the world I should want—Connor Bryant, the resident office ladies’ man. I’m the quirky Pride & Prejudice-loving editor with a passion for big words and a wardrobe that screams “world’s least sexy librarian.”

We’re complete opposites, and to make matters worse, we’re vying for the same job.

No worries—I’m perfectly happy keeping him at arm’s length. And judging by his lack of interest in me (the only woman in the office he hasn’t flirted with), he seems to agree.

But then, a sudden earthquake rocks my carefully constructed world, and we find ourselves stuck overnight in the office. Suddenly, things don’t seem so simple. It turns out that Connor isn’t the self-absorbed jerk I thought he was.

When he offers to join me as my fake boyfriend at my ex’s wedding—talk about a curveball—I can’t help but let my heart race and my imagination run wild. Especially when he surprises me with a kiss that’s way more swoony than chaste.

I know I can’t fall for him—that would be repeating my past mistakes. But my heart is stubbornly convinced that Connor might just be my very own Mr. Darcy.

Can I resist the magnetic pull of our unexpected chemistry, or will I end up writing my own love story with the man I swore I'd never want?

My Review: 5 Stars

Y'all. I don't know why I continually do this to myself. What am I doing you may ask? I tend to put off reading the popular books until they no longer fill my newsfeeds. I'm someone who wants to be different and read books that no one else is reading. But every single time I do that, I always regret not reading it when everyone else is. Why? Because the books end up being freaking amazing, and I'm always late to the party. Case in point, Loving the Ladies' Man!

Y'all. I was hooked from the very beginning. I giggled out loud, suffered from second-hand embarrassment, got teary eyed, cheered our couple on, got frustrated with them, swooned at their tender moments and sizzling kisses, and let out all the little dreamy sighs. In other words, I absolutely loved every single minute I spent with Evie and Connor.

These two are perfectly imperfect, but perfect for each other. They pushed each other, cheered each other on, gave each other strength, and made sacrifices for the betterment of the other. You can't help but love and root for Evie and Connor. *dreamy sigh* These two are the best!

As most of you may know, I love me some awesome side characters, and this book was filled with them! I also love when said side characters have their own books. I can see lots and lots of reading in my near future.

This is my very first book by Ms. Canary, and obviously it won't be my last. I have all her books in this series and the beginning of the next, all lined up and ready for me to dive it. I just know another author is going to be added to my favorites list, and that's always a huge plus! We can never have too many favorites, right?!

As for my casting... *dreamy sigh* LOVE!

Paging Dr. Summers by Jennifer Peel

Synopsis:

Summer fling or the real thing?

My mom’s last gift came with two an unexpected inheritance from the father I never knew, and one unforgettable summer in Aspen Lake. Her only request? Complete the bucket list she left for me. Simple enough—until I saw that item written in HAVE A SUMMER FLING.

I’ve never been the type to fall into a fling, but Mom insisted it would be a magical, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Determined not to let her down, I set out to find my perfect Mr. Summer. Instead, I have a cringeworthy not-so-meet-cute with Dr. Logan Summers—my devastatingly handsome new neighbor with a guarded heart and a painful past.

Despite our rocky start, the relationship between Logan and me blooms into an unexpected friendship filled with laughter, adventure, and undeniable sparks. But as our connection grows and our friendship becomes something deeper, I find myself wondering—what if I want more than just a fling? Can the magic of summer love stay forever?

My Review: 5 Stars!

Oh holy swooniness in a heart shaped shell! Y'all. I can't even begin to tell you how much I adored this book!

I have been in one of those dread reading ruts for MONTHS. The only books I've been able to read are ones that I have already read multiple times. And let me tell you... that gets old. So when I woke up yesterday morning and actually had the desire to read something new, I immediately grabbed this baby.

*dreamy sigh*

Best. Decision. Ever!

From the moment Brooke and Logan met, there was an instant connection. One that Brooke wanted to embrace and had Logan wanting to run for the hills. But we've all read enough romance books to know that our beloved characters can't outrun Fate. And, in Brooke and Logan's case, can't outrun Roxanne.

If I had to describe their story, I would have to say it's magical, full of heart, unwavering love, brimming with adventures, hope, self discovery, and so many swoony moments that will have you turning into a bio ol' pile of ooey gooey goodness over and over and over again. Their story is absolutely beautiful and just what the doctor ordered.

Ms. Peel never ceases to amaze me. Her books have a way of capturing me and transporting me to a place full of adventures and wonder with characters you just can't help but fall in love with. Aspen Lake will forever hold a special place in my heart. I can't wait to go back for another visit!

As for my casting... I'm kind of in love... *dreamy sigh*

Toward Immortal Ruin by Anna Hawke

Synopsis:

An eternity of waiting. A life nearly over.

Eden is living on borrowed time. When she’s thrust into the crosshairs of a dangerous organization, she enters a world of lore and legend. The man who saves her life is everything she’s ever wanted—but she knows there’s an expiration date.

Nero has waited a thousand years for his fated mate, compelled by visions of a future beside her. What he doesn’t realize is that she’s human–and fate has already cursed her once. When his enemy targets her, the future he’s longed for is suddenly threatened.

Their enemy plans to devastate immortalkind, and with it, turn them from myths into monsters. Will Nero and Eden’s eternity be over before it begins?

My Review: 5 Stars

I've been staring at my laptop for an hour trying to wrap my mind around what in the world just happened. But my sleep deprived mind just can't put it into words right now. Why am I sleep deprived you ask? Because, silly me, thought it would be a good idea to start this book yesterday evening, completely positive that there would be some break in the book and I'd be able to put the book down, get some sleep, and then pick it up again in the morning and finish it. Y'all. There. Was. Not.

Twists and turns. Heartbreaks and sorrow. Secrets and anguish. I knew there was going to be a HEA, but my heart HURT from all the pain I felt to get there. I cried. Full. On. Cried! I couldn't handle it. I wanted to lash out, to scream (especially at Eden), shake her and wake her up. She was killing me. Had it not been midnight when certain things happened, my kindle would be embedded in my wall right now. But sleeping neighbors kind of put a damper on throwing things. That and I needed to see Nero and Eden get their HEA.

The Citizens are really ramping things up, and I despise them all. They threaten the happiness of all my favorite immortals, and I am not okay with that. I feel like I have been put through the wringer, and then some. I don't know how much more I can take. But I need to see this through to the end. Even if it kills me.

Ms. Hawke. You hold my heart in your hands. You have ripped it out hundreds of times and have shattered it into a million pieces. I can feel it in my bones that you are not done with it yet. I just hope that when all is said and done, it's whole once more. I don't want even a little piece to be missing. Please be gentle.

And of course I can't forget my casting! *dreamy sigh*

Above Cursed Winds by Anna Hawke

Synopsis:

No one would ever look at her and see a villain.

Zia is cursed, fearing the day she falls in love. When the enemy breaches immortal defenses and exposes their vulnerabilities, she must fix her mistake, even if it means partnering with an Elemental determined to condemn her. As Jeremiah breaks down her defenses, she learns that he isn’t what he seems—and their chemistry is undeniable.

Deep within Jeremiah’s soul, something has irreparably shattered. Seeing his best friend murdered changed him, and out of that pain came cruelty. Guilt and regret begin to tear him apart, and his only chance of surviving rests with the woman whose innocence is in question.

Neither can resist the passion that burns between them, even as fate ties them together in a game with fatal consequences. The closer they come to solving the riddle, the deadlier the game becomes.

My Review: 5 Stars

Y'all. The more I read this series, the higher my anxiety gets. So many twists and turns. So much love for my favorite characters and the new ones that are being introduced. So much fear of one of them ending up dead before the series ends. I just can't handle it! Gah! I have never had my emotions so jumbled and mixed and just all over the place as I have had with this series. I know I'm going to be a complete and utter mess before it's all over with. But. I. Just. Can't. Stop!

Words can not express the love I have for this book. From beginning to end, I was hooked. I was quickly immersed in all things Jeremiah and Zia. Their anguish that flows off the pages. Their ups and downs. Their fears. Their fragile hearts. Their quiet love that can easily be broken. Their love and protection of Myko. Every single minuet detail of this book will forever be ingrained in my heart. Once again, my heart was ripped out and shattered into a million pieces while reading this heartachingly beautiful story. There is just no other way to describe it.

Things are starting to get real with the Citizens and it's killing me not knowing what in the world is going to happen. You get to see little bits and pieces of what they've been doing in each book, but it's never enough to get a good picture of what's in store. And that is seriously the worst feeling in the world. All heck is going to break loose and it's going to leave me reeling.

Even though it's going to be the death of me, I highly recommend giving this series a try. Ms. Hawke leaves me in awe every single time I pick up one of her books. I have yet to read one that I didn't like, one that didn't have me feeling all the feels, one that has turned me into a big ol' pile of goo when it comes to all the swoony goodness between all the couples. You might curse her like I do, but you will love her... I promise!

As for my casting... *dreamy sigh* LOVE!

Under Crimson Blades by Anna Hawke

Synopsis:

It’s scary what a smile can hide.

Remmus conceals his horrific past behind a veil of charm, loyalty, and strength. When his unique expertise lands him at the center of a dangerous mission, he is forced to partner with a werewolf beta who despises him. Remmus has never met a more captivating woman, but his future is far from secure. As his mind begins to unravel, the secret he harbors risks ruining him forever.

Poisoned by betrayal, Ava has loathed Raeths for centuries. She detests Remmus’ presence in her den, but the Raeth intrigues her wolf. As hatred slowly dissolves into desire, Ava will either live for today or let the past dictate her destiny.

Together, they must discover a way to tear down their enemy from within and secure a victory for the immortal world. When fate ties them together, the truth will either set them free—or destroy them both.

My Review: 5 Stars

A Raeth and a Werewolf. Both with traumatic pasts. Both searching for something, anything to free them from the horrors of their childhoods. Both trying to regain all that they've lost. Both desperately needing the love of each other before it's too late.

Speechless. I am speechless. Where do I even start to tell you all about the journey of Remmus and Ava? Broken. Wrecked. Shattered. Betrayal. Pain. Tears. Traumatic. Unconditional love. Forgiveness. Laughter. Redemption. Family. Trust. Strength. Heartachingly beautiful. Those words. All those words are just part of what made their journey unforgettable and worth every single tear I shed for them. I'm not going to sugarcoat it, this journey was definitely not an easy one to get through.

Remmus and Ava will forever hold a special place in my heart. My heart literally broke into a million pieces for them, and was slowly put back together, bit by bit, as amends were made, and their love grew. After all these two have been through, they desperately needed a HEA, and the icing on the cake was they found it with each other.

I have been procrastinating this series because the closer I get to the end, the worse it's going to be. I've known this for months now. It has taken me 11 weeks to even pick up this book. But once I picked it up, there was no going back. I was hooked. Am I going to pick up the next book in the series right away? I have no clue. I'm still reeling from all things Remmus and Ava.

Ms. Hawke is extremely talented when it comes to writing. I am in awe of the worlds she can create and the unique twists and turns she throws into her books. Even though I know she's going to rip my heart out, shatter it into a million pieces, stomp on it for good measure, and do a little happy dance at my pain, she's still a favorite of mine. If you haven't read any of her books, I highly recommend you give them a try! You won't regret it.

And of course I can't forget my casting. *dreamy sigh* I just adore these two!

Without Pride and Prejudice by Jennifer Peel

Synopsis:

Can their love conquer pride and prejudice?

Ever since I first read Pride and Prejudice at twelve years old, I’ve dreamed of being Elizabeth Bennet. That dream is now about to come true. I, Monroe Wilde, the woman some could argue isn’t exactly Elizabeth Bennet material, have been chosen to play the beloved heroine for one week at Pride and Prejudice Park, a destination experience for Jane Austen devotees. To make this dream even more amazing and surreal, my best friend, the Duke of Blackthorne, Alastair Fitzroy, has volunteered to play my Mr. Darcy.

If this wasn’t fantastic enough, it appears my broody and ridiculously attractive best friend, who I’ve done my best not to fall in love with, wants to be my real-life Mr. Darcy as well. But there are some gigantic obstacles standing in our way. For starters—I’m not exactly duchess material, and we run in very different circles. Dating me would most certainly make him a social pariah. But the biggest problem of all is that, well . . . I don’t know exactly how to explain it, but somehow after a horrible mishap at the park, I find myself more than just pretending to be Elizabeth Bennet—I land smack dab in the middle of the actual Pride and Prejudice story.

So since I’m here and unsure whether it’s a dream or if Pride and Prejudice really is heaven, I figure I’ll just help move things along and make sure everyone gets a happy ending, even Mr. Collins. But leave it to me to mess up the quintessential love story of all time. What happens if I can’t get Mr. Darcy to fall in love with Elizabeth? Will I ever get back to Alastair? Will I ever become the Elizabeth I so wish to be? And I have to wonder: can my world exist without Pride and Prejudice?

My Review: 5 Stars!

Have you ever just needed a day to yourself? A day where you ignore everything and everyone around you and do something you want to do? That's exactly how I felt when I woke up this morning. So what did I do? I grabbed this baby, ignored the world around me, and dove head first into all things Monroe and Fitz.

I don't know where to begin to tell you how much I adored Monroe and Fitz. From their first meeting, their "Ta-da!" moment, I was hooked and knew this book was going to be one I would treasure for years to come. One that I know I'll be reading over and over again.

I'm usually not a fan of friends to lovers, but Monroe and Fitz are something special. Their connection, their bond, their love for each other, had me feeling all the feels and rooting for them to get their HEA. Their story had every thing I have come to crave and love in the books I read. I couldn't decide if I wanted to devour their book as quickly as possible, or read it as slow as I could to savor every moment they shared together. Their journey is beautiful and full of heart. I loved every minute I spent with Monroe and Fitz. It was perfection in my opinion.

You guys know how much I adore the side characters and this book was full of them. From Monroe's P&P family, to their real families, I fell in love with them all. They were the perfect addition to an already amazing story. Now someone please tell me that I'm not the only one who needs Anna and Kingston's story. Intrigued is an understatement when it comes to these two. I'm crossing all the thangs that Ms. Peel gives us their HEA.

There's a reason why Ms. Peel is one of my favorite authors and this book is a perfect example. I can always count on her to make me laugh out loud, get teary-eyed, and let out little dreamy sighs while reading her books. I'm in awe of her talent and cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next!

As for my casting... I adore these two! What do you think?!

My Vigilante Valentine by Jess Mastorakos

Synopsis:

When my oh-so-handsome coffee shop regular turns out to be The Blade—the city’s most infamous vigilante—I do the most logical thing appoint myself as his partner in crime-fighting.

Sure, Jax isn’t exactly thrilled. He’s the type who insists he doesn’t need a team, prefers to brood alone, and thinks opening up is a tactical error.

But guess who came up with the genius plan to pose as a couple to lure out a Valentine’s Day villain? Me.

And okay, maybe the dating ruse was a means to an end, but the more time I spend with Jax, the harder it is not to fall for this adorably stoic antihero.

I mean, come on. His love language is grumpy acts of service (like saving a life and then glaring about it), and he’d do anything to protect the people of this city—and me.

But even though he makes my heart race with just a look, he seems to be more interested in cleaning up the streets than kissing me for real.

It’s fine. I can do this.

I can work with The Blade without getting drawn in by Jax’s devastating good looks.

I can be the faithful sidekick and pretend I’m not wishing for so much more.

Right?

After all, I’m supposed to be helping him catch criminals, not feelings.

My Review: 5 Stars

Calling all lovers of grumpy/sunshine and Arrow! Is that you?! Well... do I have just the book to add to your TBR! And I would add it to the top because this book is perfect for people like us! *dreamy sigh*

Y'all. Luna needs to be my best friend! She had me literally laughing out loud from the very beginning ("I'm obsessed.") and had me wondering what in the world she was going to come up with next. I loved her way of thinking and how she wasn't afraid to live her life. She danced to the beat of her own drum and you just can't help but to love her!

Just ask Jax. He tried. He really, really tried. But y'all. This is Luna we're talking about here! She doesn't take no for an answer and dragged him into all her craziness. He may have balked at it but I think that, deep down inside, he loved every single minute of it. He, too, couldn't wait to see what in the world she would do next.

Luna and Jax were absolutely perfect for each other. They are complete opposites but totally work together. It's clear from the very beginning that there will never be a dull moment in their relationship. She'll definitely keep that man on his toes. But honestly? I think that's one of the things he loves the most about her. Gah! I just can't with how much I adore these two!

Now lets take a moment to discuss the off the charts chemistry and swoony kisses. YOWZERS! It was hot, hot, hot! I may or may not have turned into a big ol' pile of ooey gooey goodness. This girl had all the heart eyes and dreamy sighs for all things Luna and Jax. I seriously did not want this book to end!

I have to say that I was SOOOOO happy to hear that Ms. Mastorakos plans on writing more of the adventures of Luna and Jax! I may or may not have squealed and did a little happy dance around my room when this was announced. I have no clue what she has planned but I'm hoping Chris will get his own book. He definitely needs a HEA of his own. But whether he does or doesn't, I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in this series! I already know it's going to be amazing!

As for my casting... I really wanted to use Emily Bett Rickards and Stephen Amell (IYKYK), but alas. They just didn't fit for Luna and Jax. Now these two on the other hand? Perfection in my opinion! What do you think?

A Pen Pal for Christmas by Jess Mastorakos

Synopsis:

A secret pen pal exchange, a holiday romance, and a danger they never saw coming.

Snow Hill is the perfect place for a holiday escape, and for Sofia, it’s the ultimate refuge from the drama back home. With her brother thriving in this charming Christmas town, the last thing she wants is to disrupt it with her own troubles. Determined to focus on the festive magic, she throws herself into a new holiday a secret pen pal exchange designed to spread joy around town.

After a devastating loss while stationed overseas, Hudson is more than ready to spend Christmas in Snow Hill. He's hoping the place where he spent his childhood will help him find peace, but then his well-meaning Aunt Ida signs him up for the holiday pen pal exchange to cheer him up. Hudson doubts it will lead to much more than a few lighthearted letters, but for his aunt, he reluctantly agrees.

As the holiday season unfolds, Sofia and Hudson connect with their anonymous pen pals on paper. At the same time, their real-life paths keep crossing, and the sparks between them are undeniable. But when the danger from Sofia's past creeps into Snow Hill's festive bubble, can they find a way to protect each other—and the love they’ve begun to find?

My Review: 5 Stars

There's no better feeling than opening up a much anticipated book and being instantly transported to one of your favorite fictional places. A place where the world around you ceases to exist and, just for a little while, you can forget all your worries and just live in the moment with some of your favorite characters. These moments and books are ones I will always treasure.

Sofia and Hudson are something special. From the moment they met, there was a connection that went far beyond attraction. Something between them just clicked and everything grew from there. You can't help but love them and their relationship. They helped each other to see themselves how the other one sees them. They lifted each other up when they were down. They loved each other unconditionally and were by each others side when they needed it the most. I simply adored these two and loved watching them get there HEA. Everything about this book was perfection and had this girl letting out all the little dreamy sighs.

I absolutely adore the small town of Snow Hill and everyone in it. Watching old friends rally behind Sofia and Hudson had my heart smiling. And meeting new friends who did the same? Absolute perfection. I'm counting down the months until Jamie's book is released. I can't wait to return to Snow Hill.

One of my favorites genres is romantic suspense and y'all. Ms. Mastorakos nailed it! This book has more suspense than what she normally writes and I'm crossing my fingers that more of her books are like this one! It was fantastic! I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

As for my casting. Y'all. This is definitely one of my favorites! I love these two! What do you think?

He's ready to build a life in a place that matches the values he was brought up with, but then a vibrant travel writer disrupts his peaceful world, hooking him in from the very start. Unfortunately, his new home is nothing more than a stopover for her.

Grace's mantra is embrace the journey, relish the experiences... and then drift off to the next destination. She's never experienced the things Snow Hill holds dear, but as bonds with new friends begin to draw her in and a handsome local cop starts to break down her walls, Grace is forced to reconsider everything she knows about what she wants.

And when the blizzard of the century envelops the town, Grace, Tommy, and way too many other people find themselves trapped inside the cozy confines of the Snow Hill Inn. If it were simply about working together to keep everyone safe and warm, it might've turned into a fun night. But as a new threat emerges from within, can Grace and Tommy survive the danger that's been hiding in plain sight all along?

My Review: 5 Stars

Confession. I've been in a bit of a reading rut lately. I've reread some of my old favorites, but nothing seemed to call to me. When I finally decided what I was in the mood for, I knew exactly what book I wanted to start with. And in my opinion, it was absolute perfection!

From the moment I picked up Grace and Tommy's story, I was transported back to Snow Hill and all the magic this small town possesses. I just couldn't wait to watch their story unfold. And oh what a story it was!

I quickly fell in love with all things Grace and Tommy. It wasn't hard to root for these two. They both had a fun, easy going vibe that made it easy to relate to them. Watching their attraction turn into friendship and then into love melted my heart. Add to that some sizzling chemistry and these two were absolutely perfect for each other. I couldn't help but let out all kinds of dreamy sighs.

One of my favorite things about series is catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. From the moment Sofia was introduced, I knew I was going to love her. She was the perfect addition to this small town and I can't wait to dive into her book next. I see someone pretty dang special in store for her.

I know I've said this so many times but y'all. If you haven't read any of Ms. Mastorakos' books then you are most definitely missing out! I have adored every single book I have read. There's a reason she's one of my favorite authors. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

As for my casting... I have one word. Love! What do you think?

Jessie Belle by Jennifer Peel

Synopsis:

Jessica and Blake Summers know a thing or two about what it's like to be the latest and greatest news in their small town of Merryton. Their thirteen-year marriage has had more than its fair share of heartache and loss. Then the past comes knocking, in the form of a teenage girl, a daughter Blake never knew existed. The news sets the Merryton grapevine on fire.

In the wake of this revelation and amid the firestorm it creates, Blake and Jessica are forced to reevaluate their own relationship and priorities, all while learning that raising a teenage girl is not for the faint of heart. But during the chaos and uncertainty, they discover that Madeline may just be what the doctor ordered to heal their broken hearts and mend their own tattered relationship.

Will they have the courage to look forward and find a greater love than they could ever imagine? Or will past hurts and the town grape vine tear them apart?

My Review: 5 Stars

Y'all. Trying to find something I'm in the mood to read is always a challenge when life gets crazy. While looking through the books on my kindle, The Women of Merryton series jumped out and said... "it's time to read us again!" My brain said... "while you're at it, update your reviews!" Who am I to say no?! It's time to show old favorites lots of love!

Jessie and Blake will forever be favorites of mine. Their journey was definitely tough but one worth watching. Before I even finished the first chapter I was hooked. I sat back and held on tight while enjoying the emotional roller coaster that is Jessie Belle. I found myself cheering them on when things were going right, growling and getting frustrated when Blake was being dense or things weren't going my way, rolling my eyes at certain characters that seriously needed to be Gibbs slapped, laughing at the antics of teenagers, getting teary eyed at the sad and even tender moments, and letting out dreamy sighs throughout the whole journey. I seriously felt like I was right there in Merryton experiencing the whole journey with Jessie, Blake and Maddie. It. Was. AMAZING!

Have you ever read a book and decided that the characters needed their own theme song? Jessie's song would be Fight Song by Rachel Platten. Not only does she have to work on strengthening and bettering her marriage with Blake and learn to be the best stepmom ever, she also has to learn to love herself again. Her poor body and self esteem have taken hit after hit after hit and she doesn't even recognize herself anymore. It was a constant uphill battle for her. But dang it... she fought every step of the way!

I also discovered Blake's song for Jessie. It is absolutely perfect in my opinion. It's another Rachel Platten song... Stand By You. Blake did a lot of growing himself and one thing he realized was that he could not go a day without Jessie. He knew that he hadn't been the best of husbands and he knew he had a lot to make up for. And make up for it he did. He was her faith, courage and strength when she didn't know if she could go on the way they were going. He set out to prove that he was always going to stand by her no matter what! *dreamy sigh* Have I told you how much I LOVE Blake?!

Ms. Peel did another FANTABULOUS job of sucking me into yet another one of her books. Just like the first time around, I had the hardest time putting it down. Even though I've read the book before, I still found myself reading late into the night and waking up earlier than usual to continue their journey. Fully immersing myself into a book is the best feeling in the world! I loved every minute of it!

As for the casting... I literally saw Jessie from the very first chapter! She just totally fit! Blake took a little longer but I love him just as much as I love Jessie! What do you think?!

Below Fated Skies by Anna Hawke

Synopsis:

Fear of the flame is what keeps it burning.

An alpha werewolf born of a dark past, Riaz is a ruthless protector, but a caring leader. When the enemy develops a new weapon in his pack’s back yard and werewolves begin to turn rabid, Riaz spares no effort to eliminate the danger. Even if it meant inviting an uptight vampire into their midst.

Cortana is atoning for an unforgivable sin. When she loses the purpose she hid behind for centuries, she accepts a mission in werewolf territory. What began as collaboration quickly shifts to desire, and she is faced with a dilemma. If she opens herself to the charms of the fun-loving alpha, she risks losing control of the monster within her once more.

As they confront enemies and the mistakes of their pasts, will their bond withstand the trials of fire, or will they be consumed by the flames?

My Review: 5 Stars

Y'all. I am seriously hooked on this series and I no longer want to be an adult. Who wants to take my place so I can stay home and read? Anyone? Adulting is SO overrated.

To say Cortana and Riaz are complete opposites would be an understatement. Cortana has everything scheduled and organized, while Riaz is more laidback and is more of an organized chaos kind of guy. From their first meeting you knew there story was going to be rollercoaster of a ride, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Their banter and random nicknames will have you giggling out loud. While the more serious moments will have your heart breaking. But you will love every minute of it.

I wasn't every far into the book before I fell head over heels in love with Riaz. Y'all. That man is something special! He's protective, loving, loyal, and he's the one you want by your side always. Cortana on the other hand was a bit stubborn and strong willed. Don't get me wrong, she has the same characteristics as Riaz, but the tragic secrets in their past lead each of them down opposite paths when it came time to face their demons. Their story was another heartachingly beautiful one. Seeing these two finally get their HEA will melt your heart into a big ol' pile of goo.

I am seriously in love with this series! It is such a fun one to get lost in. I literally count down the minutes until I can pick it back up again. I am usually over a fantasy series by book 5 but that's definitely not the case here! I just can't get enough of it! Whether you're a fantasy lover or not, you really need to start this series! It just keeps getting better and better!

Ms. Hawke has definitely cemented herself onto my favorite authors list. Every single book of hers I've read sucks me in from the first page and holds me hostage until the very end. I lose all track of time when immersing myself into this phenomenal world she has created. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

As for my casting. You. Guys! The moment I found these two, I knew they were absolute perfection! I think this is one of my favorite castings so far! What do you think?!

Upon Shattered Bonds by Anna Hawke

Synopsis:

Every betrayal begins with trust.

After learning the lesson firsthand, Nina has guarded herself and her clan against any threat. When her defenses fail, an assassination attempt leaves her vulnerable. With their bitter history poisoning their mating bond, she can either accept Zeke’s help and stay alive—or fight alone.

Zeke prides himself on honor and integrity, but is haunted by a past riddled with tragedy. When Nina is injured, he’s desperate to protect her and bring the people who did it to justice. As a Raeth sovereign, he must choose between his clan or his fated mate.

Nina and Zeke find themselves tied together in a perilous game surrounded by lies and half-truths. The question will they survive, or will they let the past claim their lives?

My Review: 5 Stars

What. Just. Happened?! Like, seriously. What in the ever loving world just happened?! Speechless. I am absolutely speechless. This entire book has messed with all of my emotions, all of my feelings. Like ALL of them. Y'all. I just can't right now.

Nina and Zeke, all though mates, have spent centuries apart. Neither seemed to want to have anything to do with the other. But there's more than meets the eye. Both have secrets that they've kept from each other. Both have been hurt. Both have been living in limbo. That is until an invitation from Kaien is extended for Zeke to attend his wedding. Once Nina and Zeke see each other, their fight to stay apart starts to diminish. The chemistry these two have is off the charts!

I always knew Nina was stubborn. I just didn't realize HOW stubborn the woman really was. Holy Hannah. Y'all. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I wanted to shake her and/or Gibbs slap her. The woman is maddening. But as the attacks on her and Zeke started happening more and more, it brought them closer together. While it still wasn't all sunshine and roses, it was heartachingly beautiful to see these two fated mates FINALLY come together and get their HEA that is long past due.

Y'all. I thought the plot twist in Across Shadowed Paths was big. But my mind can't even remember what it was because the plot twist in this one?! Y'all. There. Are. No. Words! I'm still asking myself what just happened?! I'm surprised I've written as much of a review as I have because my mind is still reeling from this book.

There's a quote on my blog that says "A book is proof that humans are capable of working magic." I am in complete awe of the world and characters Ms. Hawke has created. She seems to leave me speechless and craving more at the end of each book. Her books just keep getting better and better. Do yourself a favor and give her books a try. You won't regret it. I promise!

And of course no review would be complete without a casting. Love! I just love these two! What do you think?

Across Shadowed Paths by Anna Hawke

Synopsis:

Three days. Two people. One cabin. A mating bond triggered by a vampire’s bite.

Blair escaped the horrors of her past, but they never stopped haunting her. Driven by the need for revenge, she ventures into the heart of enemy territory. When she’s exposed as a vampire, being rescued strands her in the wilderness with her best friend’s brother.

Living in the shadow of his sister, Kaien fears he can claim nothing to his own merit. When he saves Blair’s life, he’s stripped of his abilities and trapped in a mating bond with a woman who refuses him. Thousands of miles away from his clan, he must battle against the need to claim her as his fated mate—and the one thing that could solely be his.

Away from civilization, the masks they wear crumble, and the scorching desire between them ignites. Sheltering together in a remote cabin, Blair and Kaien must survive the elements—and each other.

My Review: 5 Stars

Raise your hand if you have been known to hold a grudge against fictional characters. You didn't know that was a thing? Neither did I until I met Blair in From Tortured Fates. Y'all. That woman has had me fuming for 3 months and refusing to read her book. All because she did something to our beloved Circe and Luc that I did NOT approve of. IYKYK.

Since I have been invested in this series from the moment I picked it up, I finally just said forget it. Pick up the dang book and read it. And so I did. I was not 100% sold on Blair going into the book, even though I was assured that others had the same feelings I did and ended up loving Blair. She's definitely rough around the edges and goes out of her way to be defiant. But about halfway through, she started growing on me. I may or may not have loved her by the end.

Okay fine. I did end up loving her. But I believe that Kaien had a lot to do with that. The man was her perfect mate. He balanced her, strengthen her, protected her, smoothed out those roughened edges, and simply loved her. She has never had that in her life and didn't know how to react. Through Kaien's love, she was able to discover who she truly was and learned to love in return. *le sigh* I love love.

As for the continued story, y'all. All I have to say is PLOT TWIST! I did NOT see that one coming and I'm even more invested than I was before. I cannot wait to see what happens next!

Ms. Hawke has quickly become one of my favorite authors. The worlds she creates are unique and intriguing. Once I start one of her books, I have the hardest time putting them down. She is amazing! If you haven't read any of her books yet, I highly recommend checking them out!

As for my casting... *dreamy sigh* Aren't these two perfect?! Your answer should be a resounding YES! Hehe.

Beauty and the Beach by Gracie Ruth Mitchell

Synopsis:

Phoenix Park is the man I fantasize about...hitting with my car, that is.

He's rich. He's sexy. He's the absolute worst. But after I fall prey to an internet scam and lose every last penny in my account (please don’t ask), it’s Phoenix who swoops in with an offer I can’t refuse. I’ll marry him for the summer so he can inherit the family company from his dying grandmother, and in return, he’ll drop a hefty sum of money into my bank account.

Buy me a pair of sweatpants with GOLD DIGGER across the butt, because I’m just desperate enough to agree.

Our arrangement is only supposed to be for a few months, until Phoenix’s poor grandmother passes. I can pretend for that long. I can stop insulting him long enough to force a few smiles and some lovey-dovey glances. But with every touch we share, with every kiss we fake, I find the walls around my heart beginning to crack—letting in feelings I'm not prepared for.

And when Phoenix’s grandmother makes a miraculous recovery, leaving us stuck indefinitely in this charade of holy matrimony? That’s when I know I’m really in trouble.

My Review: 5 Stars!

Hi! It's me! Late to the party again! Why do I always do this to myself? Why do I always wait so long to read amazing books?! Why?! I just don't get it! *le sigh* I guess it's better late than never, right?!

Now. Raise your hand if you're like me and haven't read this book yet. You? And you? Yes.. I see you. Now come here. It's okay. But I want you to do me a favor. Stop reading my review, right now, and run, don't walk, over to Amazon and grab this book. Trust me! You don't really need to read my review. You really need to read this book. My review can wait. I promise! Now hurry! Go... go... go! You can thank me later!

*deep breath* Crisis adverted. *whew*

Y'all. I don't even know where to begin with this review. It has everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, that I crave and adore in books! I know I've done this in a few reviews but I just have to let you know why this is a MUST read! All the feels? ✓ Swoony? ✓ Lots of kisses? ✓ Giggled/laughed out loud? ✓ Let out all the little dreamy sighs? ✓ Witty Banter? ✓ Sweet moments between characters? ✓ Counted down the minutes until I could pick the book back up? ✓

I honestly could not get enough of Holland and Phoenix. These two quickly stole my heart and I was invested from the very beginning. I kept reaching out to bookish friends at various stages of the book because I just could NOT with these two! Let's just say there's a fine line between hate and love and these two were definitely straddling that line. Their chemistry was off the charts! Their first kiss? WOWZERS! All I can say is sit down, buckle up, and enjoy the rollercoaster ride called Holland and Phoenix! And let me just tell you... what a wild ride it was! *dreamy sigh*

Ms. Mitchell has definitely earned her spot on my favorite authors list. I have loved every single book of hers I've read so far and can't wait to read the rest. Any author who can kidnap me and hold me hostage until the end of their book and then makes me want to read it all over again is a definite keeper! If you haven't read any of her books yet, I highly recommend that you grab one today! You can thank me later.

And now... my casting... y'all. I. Am. In. LOVE! What do you think?!

My Lucky Charm by Courtney Walsh

Synopsis:

A humiliating break-up leads to an impulsive New Year’s Kiss with a complete stranger.
What could possibly go wrong?

It’s no secret that I love life. And Dr. Pepper. But also, I love a challenge. . .

So when the coach of the Chicago Comets gives me the opportunity to help their star player, newly traded to their team, acclimate to life in Chicago, I'm all in.

I have to be. After my last job went up in flames, I have something to prove.

It turns out that the player, Grayson Hawke, is the rudest, most off-putting, reclusive guy I’ve ever met.

It also turns out that he is the beautiful stranger I kissed on New Year’s Eve.

I can do this job. I can do this job. I can do this job.

And I can. Really well.

I can make Gray’s life easier, show him all the reasons to fall in love with this city, and in the process, hopefully completely forget that the amazing kiss ever happened.

How hard can it be? We’re total opposites anyway.

I love people . . . and all their stories. Gray loves hockey . . . and nothing else.

I love to talk. Gray only stares.

I’m happy-go-lucky. Gray’s all work and no play.

There’s just one problem. The more time I spend with Grayson Hawke, the more I start to see that underneath his bristly, standoffish exterior, he’s nothing like the man everyone thinks he is.

And suddenly, all the reasons for keeping my distance, staying professional, and not falling for someone again. . . are impossible to remember.

My Review: 5 Stars

Y'all. I am a sucker for a grumpy/sunshine love story. I don't know why but they just make me happy. And this one did not disappoint!

If I had to describe this book in one word it would be AMAZING! From the moment I picked it up, I was transported back to Loveland where I lived and breathed all things Eloise and Gray. Their journey was full of ups and downs. It was heartachingly beautiful and had me feeling all the feels, while letting out all the dreamy little sighs. I will admit that I was extremely frustrated with Gray at times. I may or may not have wanted to Gibbs slap him a time or two. But in the end, he realized what he wanted, needed, and deserved, and set about getting his HEA with the phenomenal woman who was made just for him.

I hardly ever read reviews or descriptions any more so it was fun to discover a little surprise by the name of Scarlett (with two t's) in the story. Y'all. That sweet, sassy little girl stole my heart the moment she entered the picture. I loved seeing her with not only Gray, but with Eloise as well. Their bonds were precious.

I loved seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Side characters are seriously my jam. They just make the book that much better. I can't wait to get my hands on Raya's book. Y'all. She is one tough cookie and I have a feeling her story is going to be the most emotional one out of the Hart sisters. It's going to take someone pretty special to sweep that girl off her feet.

Can someone please tell me why I've waited so long to read Ms. Walsh's books? Like seriously. Why have I waited? Her books are what I crave when it comes to reading. She's quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I can't wait to read more by her!

And we all know that I can't forget my casting. Again, I am in love with these two! What do you think?

My Phony Valentine by Courtney Walsh

Synopsis:

A chance meeting. A hunky hockey player. A fake romance.
Hardly an ordinary day in the life of Poppy Hart.

My days usually consist of agonizing over my failing restaurant, worrying about my mountain of debt and nursing my broken heart.

Everything changes when I bump into a man in the coffee shop and claim him as my new boyfriend. To my absolute horror, he turns out to be hockey’s most renowned bad boy, Dallas Burke. To my absolute delight, he goes along with my story.

When his no-nonsense manager and meddling grandmother jump in the picture, they see a win-win solution for my failing restaurant and Dallas’s less-than-stellar reputation.

A full-fledged fake romance complete with contract negotiations, pretend dates and phony PDA.

But as I get to know the real Dallas Burke, who is not the man the press says he is, it becomes clear that if this isn’t real. . . someone better tell it to my heart.

My Review: 5 Stars

Oh my heart! Guys... get ready for all the feels in this one! And I mean All. The. Feels! Once I started this book, there was no turning back. I was hooked!

Poppy and Dallas are perfection! Oh how I adored these two! I loved watching their relationship grow from friendship into love. I quickly fell in love with these two and found myself rooting them on from the very beginning. They both had things in their past that haunted them and held them back from finding love. But if ever two souls belonged together, it would be these two. They balanced each other out and were there for each other during the hard times. Their HEA was absolutely beautiful!

Now lets take a moment to discuss the off the charts chemistry and swoony kisses. YOWZERS! It was hot, hot, hot! I may or may not have turned into a big ol' pile of ooey gooey goodness. This girl had all the heart eyes and dreamy sighs for all things Poppy and Dallas. I seriously did not want this book to end!

Y'all know how much I love me some amazing side characters and this book was full of them! Gram was probably my favorite. I loved her feistiness. She had me rolling at times. Everyone needs a Gram in their life! I also adored the relationship Poppy had with her sisters. I can't wait to read their stories!

This is my first book by Ms. Walsh and it definitely won't be my last. I was so engrossed in the book that I didn't even realize I was doing the same thing the characters were doing. I found myself getting teary-eyed, laughing out loud, giggling, and letting out all kinds of little dreamy sighs. I love when an author can make me feel like I am right there with the characters, listening to them tell me their story. And she had me doing just that. I can't wait to dive into more of her books!

As for my casting. Y'all. I just can't with how much I love these two! What do you think?

Covert Mission by Rebecca Deel

Synopsis:

Brutally attacked and left for dead was not the way second-generation cop Seth Dixon wanted to start his day. When he's set up for the murder of his confidential informant, Seth figures his chances of scoring a date with his beautiful running partner are slim to none.

After discovering the murder is connected to a deadly militia brewing big plans, the Feds ask Seth to infiltrate the group. His partner is none other than the woman who stars in his dreams, the mysterious Teagan.

Tasked with unraveling a conspiracy leading to the nation's capital, Seth plays a deadly game of cat and mouse with men who will stop at nothing to achieve their goals. Protecting Teagan and preventing an assassination become the most important missions of his life. Failure will be fatal.

Fortress Security operative Teagan Paloni thought she left the past behind, but some shadows refuse to stay buried. After spending years rebuilding her life, she plunges into the depths of her worst nightmare to protect the man she loves. With the stakes higher than ever, Teagan must defeat her demons and foil a plot to throw the country into chaos. One misstep, and Teagan will lose everything, including the man with whom she longs to build a life.

My Review: 5 Stars!

Confession. I was scared to death to start this book. With an all female Black Ops group who blends into the shadows and are considered myths within Fortress Security, my mind could only see them with heroes who were just as tough as them. I could not see them with a principle. It just would not have worked in my eyes.

After hinting that Teagan had something going on with another operative that never came to fruition, I was kind of disappointed and felt she got gypped. But then I met Seth.

Y'all. That man perfectly matched who Teagan needed in her life. I fell in love with the way he loved her, the way he treated her, the way he protected her, the way he lifted her up and promised to always be there for her. And Teagan was the same way with him. Their relationship was perfectly balanced. They strengthened each other and were just better together. I seriously loved all things Teagan and Seth!

One of the things I enjoy about the Fortress Universe is getting to see and catch up with old friends. I loved seeing Phantom, Zane and Brent. I also loved meeting new characters. Seth's team were pivotal in this book and I think they would make a great addition to the Fortress Universe. IYKYK.

Ms. Deel's books have been hit or miss for me this year. If I'm being honest, more misses than hits. But this one was most definitely a hit! I was sucked in from the very beginning and could not put this book down. I absolutely loved it and finished it in less than a day. This book is a prime example of why Ms. Deel is a favorite of mine. I can't wait to see what happens next!

As for my casting, these two are all me and I am absolutely in love with them! What do you think?

Only in Your Dreams by Madison Wright

Synopsis:

Finley Blankenship is tired of always coming up short. When her long-time boyfriend dumps her because he isn’t ready to commit, only to announce his engagement to someone else months later, she’s had it. So when her now ex comes to her flower shop to check how she’s doing after hearing the news, she lies and tells him she’s moved on. Only for her brother’s best friend to walk in at the same time and get roped into her story. Committed to playing the part, she reluctantly agrees to pretend to be in a relationship with the one man in their small town that would never actually date her.

Grey Sutton has been in love with Finley for fifteen years, but he’s never thought he had a chance. After all, he’s an honorary member of the Blankenship family because his own is so dysfunctional. He has no idea how to give Finley what she wants. Especially since he was offered a job out of state, and Finley is as rooted in this town as the trees.

But as their relationship starts to feel less and less like a charade, it leaves them with more uncertainty than ever. Lines start to blur, and Grey and Finley have to decide if they’re willing to risk their hearts to have everything they’ve ever dreamed of.

My Review: 5 Stars

When two broken souls meet, they find their missing pieces in each other.

From the moment I picked up Finley and Grey's story, I was transported back to Fontana Ridge and all the magic this small town possesses. I just couldn't wait to watch their story unfold. And oh what a story it was!

Finley and Grey have known each other for years and have pretty much loved each other just as long. They both have been through so much and have a hard time believing that there is someone out there for them that they are deserving of. It had my heart breaking. But the more time they spent together, the more they were able to open up to each other and see each other as they truly are. They saw the good, the bad, and the ugly. And all they wanted to do was protect and lift each other up, be there for each other, and show each other that they are enough.

I truly believe that no two people ever read the same book. This book, I think, is definitely one of them.

Words cannot articulate all the feelings I have for this book. I went into it thinking the story would play out in a certain kind of way, but then it went in a whole other direction. A direction that had me seeing a deeper meaning, a deeper message, one that I needed to hear. This book is phenomenal!

I've only read two books by Ms. Wright, but she is quickly making her way up my favorite authors list. I've loved the books I've read so far and can't wait to read more by her!

And of course I can't forget my casting. I'm seriously loving these two!

Content: Mild to moderate swearing; innuendo; lots of sizzling kisses; closed door/fade to black.

Merry Little Hate Notes by Jennifer Peel

Synopsis:

Nothing says I love you like a merry little hate note.

A woman does her very best to avoid at least one of the following people in her an annoying coworker, her brother’s best friend, and her first kiss. Unfortunately, for me, all three happen to be the same person—Brandon Cassidy. I’ve done my best to avoid the man, even if it means working in the ladies’ room whenever he visits the main office. Sadly, my days of hiding are coming to an end because I’ve been assigned to assist Brandon through the end of the year. The holiday season is already hard for me, but this . . . this is just the icing on the fruitcake that is my life. To add insult to injury, Brandon resurrects our old childhood game—the hate note game. I’m trying to resist the urge to engage, because do I ever have some hateful things to say to him. But that’s only because I really used to love him. Ugh. Please don’t repeat that. Like ever.

Sometimes you want something so badly, you do things you regret. Like kissing your best friend’s little sister on her sweet sixteen and then letting her believe it was all a dare. I’ve tried my best to move on from Holly St. James over the years, but how do you forget the girl you fell in love with before you even liked girls? When the opportunity arises to work closely with Holly, I jump at it. Unfortunately, the woman does her best to ignore me. So, I devise the only plan I can think of to get her attention—the hate note game. Anything to get her to talk to me. Because there are things she needs to know. First, how sorry I am. Second, I’ve never stopped loving her.

My Review: 5 Stars!

When life gives you lemons, throw them back, and curl up with a good book. After the last couple of weeks I've had, I could not wait to do just that. I woke up early this morning, did all the things I needed to do, put my pajamas back on, and just read the day away. Best. Day. Ever. 😍

What can I say about Holly and Brandon. *dreamy sigh* Oh holy swooniness with a side of all the feels Batman. These two were made for each other. Between their banter, merry little hate notes, smokin' hot kisses, sweet moments, and seeing each other in a way no one else has before, had me rooting for them throughout their entire journey. And oh what a journey it was! There's a lot of hurt and guilt they had to wade through to get it, but if ever anyone needed a HEA, it would be Holly and Brandon.

Now, don't let the mention of hurt and guilt fool you. While this book has some heartachingly beautiful moments, it had even more hilarious ones. Y'all. I just can't with everyone in this book! Between Holly and Brandon, and the rest of the crew I may or may not have snort laughed a time or two... or five. Gah! I loved this book and did not want it to end! It's absolute perfection!

It always feels like Christmas morning whenever I get my hands on one of Ms. Peel's book babies for the first time. I swear they just keep getting better and better! I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

Y'all. I absolutely love, love, LOVE this casting! They definitely give me heart eyes! What do you think?!

Off the Beaten Path by Madison Wright

Synopsis:

Wren Daniels is in over her head.

Between organizing a charity auction and trying to renovate a cabin she can’t afford, she’s barely keeping her head above water. The only bright spot is her new friend she met on an anonymous dating app four months ago. That is, until she discovers he’s the last person she would have expected—her grumpy neighbor who she’s never gotten along with.

Holden Blankenship likes his life just the way it is.

After his wife left him, he spent years putting his life back together. Now he’s got his daughter who is the light of his world, his family, and surprisingly, an anonymous friend. But when his anonymous friend turns out to be his neighbor who drives him crazy, he’s not sure what to make of it. Especially when her contractor backs out of her cabin renovation project and he finds himself offering to help her. Now Wren is getting under his skin in a completely different way and turning all his carefully laid plans upside down.

As Wren continues to show up for Holden and Holden keeps proving to Wren that he’s not really as standoffish as he seems, the lines between friendship and more start to blur.

Their relationship may have gotten off to an unusual start, but some of the best things in life are just a little off the beaten path.

My Review: 5 Stars!

Have you ever picked up a book and within a very short time of reading it, you just knew it was going to be one of your favorites? Well, that's what happened to me the moment I could imagine little June's high pitched giggles in my head and her telling Holden that he still has to put money in the swear jar even if he whispers it. Oh my heart! Y'all. That little munchkin stole my heart!

Wren and Holden were equally amazing. I couldn't get enough of those two! The relationship these two had was fantastic! From enemies, to friends, to something more. I laughed, got teary eyed, let out all the little dreamy sighs, and turned into a big ol' pile of goo on several occasions. All I can say is sit down, buckle up, and hold on tight because the journey of Wren, Holden and little June will be one of the best ones you'll experience. I know I'll be enjoying that journey over and over and over again. Gah! I just loved it!

I absolutely adored the small town of Fontana Ridge and everyone in it. From the meddling biddies, Myra and Melissa, to Wren's best friend Stevie, to Finley and Grey. They made the story even better. Have I told you yet how much I loved this book?!

Y'all. Ms. Wright did an phenomenal job sucking me and keeping me entertained from start to finish. One book in and I'm already invested in this series. I can't wait to get my hands on Finley and Grey's story. Thank goodness I don't have to wait long for it. September 27th can't get here soon enough! Hehe.

As for my casting... y'all. I. Am. In. Love! What do you think?
