My Review: 5 Stars

I have been waiting for Taken to be released ever since I finished Hunted! And I have to tell you, I was NOT disappointed! It was definitely worth the wait for me and I could not put it down!

We pick up shortly after Maysie and Gideon are married. They are enjoying life and everything is going great! And then Zoe, Rory, Poppy and Kirk return to Paskell after discovering they were being hunted by the werewolf hunters in Ireland. And all I have to say is... let the adventures begin!

First off... what in the world is going on with Zoe?! Maysie is at work, minding her own business when all the sudden Zoe turns into a crazy woman and starts accusing her of trying to steal her family. Huh?! Anyone can see that that would NEVER happen! Hello! She loves and adores Gideon and only has eyes for him! I'm thinking there is more to Zoe's story then hormones. If you have followed her from the Taming the Wolf series then you know that she didn't have the best of childhoods. I'm thinking that may have something to do with her actions in Taken. And can I just say that I am proud of Rory! He may be the Beta in their relationship but when push came to shove he definitely made the right decisions sticking up for the people that needed it the most. I'm secretly hoping that his relationship with Zoe brings out a little alpha in him! ;)

Now for Maysie and Gideon... *sigh* I love these two! They are completely perfect for each other! Gideon is extremely protective of Maysie and will NOT let anyone or anything hurt her! He also protects her innocence and I think that's one of the things I love the most about him! He lets her come to conclusions on her own and lets her tell him in her own way and time. When you read it you will know what I am talking about! It's the sweetest thing! And I think it's one of my favorite parts in this book!

And there is no way that I can forget Sam and Harry! Oh my goodness! I have been waiting for this to happen since Hunted! They both have been through a lot and they both deserve to be happy. The only problem is one of them has to convince the other that love and HEA's do exist and if anyone deserves it, it's them! Harry sure does have his work cut out for him when it comes to Sam but that's one of the things he loves about her... she's a challenge and this is one challenge that he is not stepping down from! ;)

Can we talk about the ending?! Well...not really talk about it because I refuse to spoil it! But let's just say if you add in things like werewolf hunters, kidnappings, hybrids, evil individuals that just need to disappear.. you have all the components that makes a Katie Lee O'Guinn novel amazing! And I will tell you that I want book 3 like NOW!! Can't wait to see what's going to happen next! I foresee lots of twists, turns and of course more adventures and HEA's!

And since we had so many couples I am just going to throw all my casting choices out there just because! Hehe. And yes... I have also put Ava and Cyrus into the mix because we do get to see and catch up with them in this book as well! Ok fine... I'll just admit it... I'm in love with casting! Hehe.

Hunted by Katie Lee O'Guinn

Synopsis:

My Review: 4.5 Stars

I loved Hunted! I couldn't put it down!

Maysie, Elijah and Sam are being hunted by werewolf hunters. Sam heads in one direction and sends her kids in the other direction to Paskell.

Sam has not had the best of luck when it comes to men. And because of that she has brought her kids up thinking all Alphas are horrible and mean. She tells them that when you see one, run the other way as fast as you can! So of course when Maysie and Elijah meet Cyrus they are completely scared to death! But Ava and Cyrus treat them like they would any other person in trouble, with love and compassion and do what ever they can to make them feel comfortable.

Ava helps Maysie not only find a job, but a place to live as well. She is able to get Elijah enrolled in school and quickly starts to feel at home in Paskell.

When Maysie first meets Gideon, she doesn't really know what to think. She has never felt the things that she feels towards him so it's totally understandable that she's scared. When he sees her for the first time he instantly knows that she is his mate. But because of her past she is extremely skittish. Gideon is absolutely amazing! He's so patient with her and is totally fine with moving slow until she can wrap her head around the fact that not ALL Alphas are bad!

When Sam finally gets to Paskell she is not happy at what she sees... Maysie kissing Gideon goodnight. There is an almost attack on Gideon and a completely shocked mama who is brought into submission by none other than Maysie! She will do anything to protect her mate! Sam is not happy that Maysie has attached herself to an Alpha and is bound and determined to break them up.

While all this drama is going on, they still have to deal with the hunters. They followed Sam up to Paskell and are very determined to get what they want. Between attacks, abductions and withdrawls, Hunted does not lack in adventure!

I loved meeting all the new characters and also getting reacquainted with old characters from Taming the Wolf series. The set up for the next book in this series has me extremely excited! I can't wait for it to be released! It's going to be amazing... I just know it! :)

Werewolf Betrayal by Katie Lee O'Guinn

Synopsis:

Against her better judgement, Ava returns to the town of Paskell to marry Cyrus. But upon their return, Cole's heartbreak threatens to tear them apart. Cole refuses to let Ava go without giving him a chance but Cyrus will do anything to protect his mate and the only woman he's ever loved. Ava's father has good intentions but ends up throwing her whole life into havoc. Will Ava's life remain tied to Cyrus or will Cole finally win her heart?

My Review: 5 Stars

Oh my heck! I loved Werewolf Betrayal! This is definitely one of my favorite series! Werewolf Betrayal went in a direction that I really didn't see coming. Warning... there may be some spoilers and my true feelings for certain people are going to be made loud and clear!! You have been warned!! ;)

I'll start with the bad...

I knew there was a reason I hated Cole from the very beginning! He is not only a creeper, but he is a psycho as well! Holy crow! I knew he was evil but I didn't realize HOW evil he was!! And Perry! What a sorry excuse for a woman! I personally think that she was in on it from the very beginning and just played the part of "poor, defenseless Perry who is scared and needs someone to protect her". She completely changed from book 2 to book 4. And I'm sorry... what kind of mother would forget their own child?!?! And Harry... Grrrr. Do you really want to get me started on him?! Lol. He is a coward, a horrible leader and an even worse father!! I mean seriously... who DOES that?! Forcing Ava to do something she does NOT want to do nor should she HAVE to do it... all to protect his wife!! Ugh!! All the work they did to make everyone in town see that women are equals and he pulls that crap?! If you haven't guessed already I had a really hard time with ALL of them! Haha. Knowing Katie she will definitely redeem Harry. But she's got her work cut out for her! ;)

And I'll end with the good...

I LOVE Ava and Cyrus!! They were put through the ringer YET AGAIN but they came out on top!! They realized that their love can get them through anything life throws at them. They stayed strong as a couple and lead the people of Paskell the way her father should have been doing all along. These two came full circle and turned out to be exactly what Paskell needed. And that ending! *dreamy sigh* Cyrus is definitely on the top of my book boyfriend's list! I absolutely LOVED how he told Ava how beautiful she was especially with the scars.. every single one of them showed her inner beauty.. she got them protecting the people she loves the most.. how much more perfect can he be?! I absolutely LOVED seeing these two grow, mature and become true leaders!

Katie... have I told you how amazing you are?! You have a way with words that just sucks me in from the very beginning and doesn't let me come up for air until the very end!! And I LOVE it! Everyone should be checking her books out! I have definitely gotten people hooked on her books and I plan I hooking A LOT more people! ;) Keep 'em coming! Can't wait to see what else you have in store for us!

And of course.. I just CANNOT do my final post of this series without posting my casting again! Admit it... it's one of the main reasons you follow my blog, right?! ;) Hehe.

 

Werewolf Revenge by Katie Lee O'Guinn

Synopsis:

My Review: 4.5 Stars

*dreamy sigh* I love Werewolf Revenge! What am I saying?! I love this whole series! Hehe.

We pick up a year and a half later from where book 2 left off. Ava is in Ireland and has been able to heal a bit. She has found a balance between the old and new Ava. I think she is starting to become who she is meant to be. No one from Paskell knows where she is and that's the way she likes it. She receives an email from her dad saying that he really wants to see her and after some thought she decides that it's time for a visit from her family. Harry, Perry and Finn all come to Ireland and Ava grows really close with her baby brother. She has a strong, special connection with him that no one can really explain.

After they head back to Paskell, Ava has a horrible feeling one night and calls to check in with her dad to make sure everything is okay only to discover that Finn has been kidnapped. She knows that she is needed in Paskell and will do anything she has to to get her brother back safe and sound. I was completely shocked to see who our bad guy was... totally did not see that coming. And my suggestion is... don't even try and figure it out because any guess you can make will probably be wrong! LOL. Well... at least mine were... ;)

Ava and Cyrus... *sigh* I love them again! Hehe. Ava did not consider the old feelings that would resurface between her and Cyrus when she went to Paskell. She thought that she could go there, find Finn and then head back to Ireland... easy peasy. Haha! NOT! They had a few bumps in the road but they were able to talk and work things out. And yes... this girl is a happy camper!!

So.. you might think I am kinda lame but I really don't care! I am who I am and I love what I love! And what I absolutely love is when Ava is in her wolf form and Cyrus kneels beside her and rubs her fur and talks to her. Seriously the sweetest thing ever! I have no clue why I love it but I just do!

Looking forward to book 4... Werewolf Betrayal. Seriously LOVE this series!! ;)

Oh... and P.S. I still can't stand Cole! He is still a creeper and I do not trust him at all!!

And of course... because I love seeing them so much... my casting choice... ;) Hehe. Seriously LOVE them!! *dreamy sigh*

Werewolf Rage by Katie Lee O'Guinn

Synopsis:

Ava Paskell has finally embraced her new life as a werewolf. Especially since that life includes Cyrus Carlston, her mate. Being in love is the best feeling in the world and she wants her dad, Harry to be as happy as she is. So when Perry and Cole Jansen, a brother and sister on the run turn up in town, she'll do anything to see her father and Perry together. Even if that means going up against Perry's mate, Braxton Mayhew and all of his hybrids. In a town like Paskell, nothing is ever easy though and what seems perfect at first can turn into the worst nightmare imaginable.

My Review: 4 STARS

I will state up front that my review will contain spoilers. If you don't like them and haven't read the book yet then I suggest not reading anymore of my review.

Ava and Cyrus... *sigh* I have so many mixed emotions about them. I love them... I really do! But I also hate them right now! I was excited that things were FINALLY starting to work out for them and then BAM! All heck breaks loose! I was BEYOND fuming when Cyrus decided to be a jerk and chose revenge over love! I literally wanted to knock him out! And then Ava... Grrrrr. Don't get me wrong. I totally understand why she needed a break... needed to get out of Paskell... but to turn into a cold, heartless woman and treat EVERYONE around her like crap?! Not cool chica! But like I said... I did get why she had to do it. I liked how in the end she was wanting to be a mix between the old and new Ava. I'm hoping she finds balance between the two... discovers who she REALLY is!

Okay... I just have to get this off my chest... I cannot stand Cole! From the moment he showed up I knew he was going to be BAD news! I think he's a creeper and he just makes me sick at times. I do NOT like a guy who continually goes after the girl even after she has told him NO not once... not twice... but SEVERAL times!! Hello!! He's called a stalker!! I really hope there aren't any Cole fans reading this. I mean come on! He ends up being Ava's uncle for crying out loud! That's just wrong!

It's weird how some books can literally suck me in and it's like I'm right there with them... feeling everything they are feeling... living through everything they are living through. This is definitely one of those books! I seriously went on an emotional roller coaster that had me thinking "what the crap jack?!" Lol. Katie Lee O'Guinn is WONDERTASTICAL that way!! I LOVE it!!

All in all... Werewolf Rage was a good book that I could not put down! It was definitely more action packed then Werewolf Dreams but that's okay... I liked it! I'm looking forward to re-reading the rest of this series. In talking to a couple of friends I have realized that while I know how the series ends... I can't remember what happens when and in which book! Gotta love finding a series that you can read over and over again and still LOVE it!! ;)

And of course I gotta put my casting up... I seriously LOVE these two!! *dreamy sigh*

Werewolf Dreams by Katie Lee O'Guinn

Synopsis:

My Review: 5 Stars

Growing up Ava had no clue that she was a werewolf. Her father, Harry, had always taught her that she needed to control her emotions.. that nothing could ever get to her. He would always hint around that he had something important to tell her and then would chicken out before saying anything. The summer before her freshman year in college they travel up to Harry's home town of Paskell to investigate a few murders that happened in the area and to spend one last summer together before things change. And change they do!

Enter in Cyrus. Holy hotness Batman! Ava felt an instant connection with Cyrus but she had no clue why. But of course things can never be easy! Harry is NOT happy about anything Ava and Cyrus. Cyrus has an admirer who thinks that he belongs to her and threatens Ava which ticks off Harry AND Cyrus! Ava's grandfather, Titus, is an evil misogynist who wants control over everyone. And there are bullies who are trying to take after Titus. Throw in the fact that Ava finally finds out that she is a werewolf... is in a town FULL of werewolves... mysterious murders... Alpha males running around everywhere... romance... in my opinion... you have the perfect book!!

Ava and Cyrus quickly became one of my favorite couples! I know some people don't care for that instant love thing but it honestly doesn't bother me when it comes to paranormal books. No clue why.. it just doesn't! But Ava did try to fight it a little bit. There were times I just shook my head and wanted to say... what's wrong with you chica?! How can you fight it when it's Cyrus?! *dreamy sigh* I loved their banter and I loved seeing them start to get to know each other.

All in all a fun start to a fun series!! Yes... I've read it before and I know what happens but I'm still excited to read the rest of Taming the Wolf series again!! Stay tuned for the rest of my reviews!! ;)

And no... I did NOT forget the casting!! How in the world could I when I have THESE two cast!! ;) What do you think of that Cyrus... *dreamy sigh*

Fate Changer by Katie Lee O'Guinn

Oh. My. HECK! I could NOT put Fate Changer down! There were so many twists and turns that I was not expecting... AT ALL!!

We pick up with our beloved characters after the tragic death of Francis. They are trying to figure out how they are going to be able to fight off Charles without her. Sarah has been given a month to decide whether or not she will be going to Charles willingly or whether he is going to take her and break her. This of course gives them time to figure out what in the world they are going to do!

There is SO much that happened that I don't even know where to start or what to say!! I want everyone to read this series but I don't want to give it all away!! It was AMAZING!!

Lets start with Sarah and Zane. Seriously.. these two just cannot catch a break! All they want is a little normal but that just does not happen! Between Charles, Mason and Race these two have to constantly stay on their toes! Both of their lives are in danger from different people and they did end up having some close calls.

Next we have Lash... what to say about him?! Well first and foremost he DID redeem himself in my eyes! He actually turned into one of the characters that I loved! He's had a hard life, his father is a psycho, he's in love with a girl that he'll never have.. my heart just breaks for him! But he finds a family with Sarah, Zane and everyone else.. and he's on the road to falling out of love with Sarah.. life may have been rough but it's definitely starting to look up for him!

And I think Charlie deserves her own little section too. She's also had a rough life and was passed around from foster home to foster home. She was tough and mean in Blood Rush but honestly that was just a front for a hurt girl who had never been loved. I really enjoyed seeing her grow and become a better person. She ended up being one of my favorites as well. :)

Ugh! And lets just bunch up Charles, Mason and Race in one very small paragraph. I hate them all! They are psycho! And they all deserved what was coming to them! Period end of discussion! Grrrr. Stupid jerks!

And then we have all the new characters that came together to help Sarah and Zane. Loved them! They were only there for a short period of time but there were some fun ones! I think my favorite was Jericho. Now he would be fun to read about! *hint hint* ;)

All in all I absolutely LOVED The Lost Witch Series! It was intense and had me on the edge of my seat the majority of the time.. I just could not put any of these books down! I completely devoured them! My emotions were off the charts and I felt everything thing that the characters felt. I LOVE any book that can do that! Katie's writing sucked me in from the very beginning and just proved to me all over again what an AMAZING writer she is!! I will DEFINITELY read anything and everything that she publishes!! And yes... you should too!! What are you waiting for?! Go and grab The Lost Witch series RIGHT NOW!! ;)

And no my casting choices have still not changed but I just love seeing them at the end of each of my posts!! ;) Hehe.

 

Blood Rush by Katie Lee O'Guinn

Book 2 in The Lost Witch trilogy picks up in Maine where our beloved characters are now living with Sarah's great-grandmother, Francis. Francis is very powerful witch and has a protection barrier around the town that keeps the evil Charles Langford out. This gives Sarah the time that she needs to come to terms with being a witch and learn everything she can from her grandma so that she can keep herself, and everyone else, safe from Charles.

While Sarah, Zane and Lash are at school they encounter another witch, Charlie. She uses the power of persuasion on Zane to break him and Sarah up. However, they did not know this at first and Sarah was pretty much heartbroken. Enter in Lash who has loved Sarah for years. He is determined to make her his... no matter what!

Ugh! Let me just get that off my chest right now. I am so NOT a fan of any type of love triangle! And while Sarah is heartbroken, she is very up front with Lash and tries to get him to understand that she just cannot have strong feelings for 2 guys at the same time. But he is very persistent and just will NOT leave her alone about it until she agrees to be his girlfriend. The guy just had no respect for Sarah and pretty much thought that because he loved her, he could do whatever the heck he wanted to do! The guy was a jerk! Plain and simple! I have to admit I lost a lot of respect for Lash while reading Blood Rush. By the end he still had not really gotten back on my good side but Katie is a pro at redeeming the good guys who have gone astray. We shall see what is in store for him in Fate Changer. But as of right now... he definitely deserves a HUGE Gibbs slap!! Maybe two... ;)

Anyway... let's get back to Zane and Charlie. Once they realized that Charlie was manipulating Zane, they took the needed measures to make sure that she really didn't have control over him. However, he still needed to date her until they got the needed information about her. Of course this about killed Sarah but during this time she worked to become better and stronger. She was able to learn how to control her powers without any outside interference.

But then things started happening that bring Zane and Sarah back together... where they belong! They just have a connection that, no matter what happens, just can NOT be broken! Every day they are together it grows stronger and stronger. I have a feeling that they are going to be unstoppable! ;)

There were lots of twists and turns that I did not see coming at all! I was on the edge of my seat about halfway through the book and I just could not put it down! Talk about intense! By the end I was happy that Sarah and Zane were back together, sad because of a death and angry and creeped out by Charles! Seriously that guy gives me the willies! He is a flippin psycho! I can't wait to see how they bring the freak down in book 3! It should be AMAZING!! I can't wait!! :)

No my casting did not change but I'm posting it again because I can... ;) Hehe.

 

Freak of Nature by Katie Lee O'Guinn

Synopsis:

Sarah Hudson refuses to believe she's a witch regardless of what her aunt says. She prefers to call it psychokinesis. Sarah has been an outcast since her early teens because of her power. Labeling herself a witch would only make her life even more unbearable. But on the first day of school, a new boy named Zane Miner recognizes her power and decides that he's going to take her under his wing, whether she likes it not. Since he's gorgeous and just as powerful as she is, she's very tempted to let him. But her pull towards another loner threatens her new relationship. As Sarah starts to accept her power she begins to realize that there are many people who would use her and break her into darkness. She must protect herself from her aunt and from a dark destiny that's determined to claim her. Sarah must turn to her new friends if she's going to survive and find the freedom and happiness she's always craved.

My Rating: 5 Stars

I really can't remember ever reading a book about witches. If I have then they must not have been very memorable. However, that has now changed after reading Freak of Nature! It was not what I was expecting at all and I loved it!

When Sarah was 5 years old her mom died and she was placed in the care of her aunt, Lena. When she hit her teen years she became the outcast.. the Freak of Nature. She had so much power around her that she had no clue what to do with it or how to control it. Her aunt has been telling her for years that she is a witch but Sarah doesn't believe it. She prefers to say she has psychokinesis.

Zane and his mom move back into town to take care of his grandmother. From the very first day of school he feels and instant connection with Sarah and just knows that they were meant to be together. Even though she fights the connection at first, he will do everything he can to not only be with her but to protect her from all the danger that is heading her way.

What danger am I talking about?! Well... you see... her aunt?! She be crazy! She THINKS that she is a witch and is ALWAYS trying to get Sarah to join her little "group of witches" so that she can "reach her full potential". However... as stated above... she be crazy! The woman is NOT a witch and wants to bind herself to Sarah so that she can have the same power. But Lena is dark and icky and Sarah wants nothing to do with her!

And then we have Lash. Sarah has been protecting him for years! He was always getting bullied in school and Sarah was always right there by his side. On the first day of school Sarah notices the difference in him but can't figure out why. Zane wants her to stay away from him because his aura is dark and just isn't right. But they have been friends for 10 years and Sarah just can't drop him when she knows that something is off with him.

After setting everything up for you I will now say... let the adventures begin! There is love... danger... new friendships... new enemies... it's got it all! I got hooked from the very beginning and just could NOT put this book down!! And I have to say the ending had me wanting to hurry up and do my review so that I can move on to book 2 in the series! I am super excited to get to know Sarah's great-grandma... she seems fun and very feisty!
