Synopsis:
Lane Brentwood is too busy trying to save Aunt Darla’s cocoa shop to have time for romance. And she definitely doesn’t have time for Logan McClain no matter what his deep blue eyes and charming smile do to her heart rate. Besides, he’s the brother of Macie, Lane’s cold-hearted nemesis in a Christmas competition.
Yet no matter how hard she tries, Lane finds herself thrown into Logan’s company. One awkward kiss under the mistletoe and Lane finds it harder than ever to resist her attraction to Logan.
The problem is, Lane’s pretty darn good at snubbing her dreams, thinking it’s the only way she can make the world a better place. Her feelings for Logan unlock a deeper yearning she’s been trying to ignore. It’ll take a special Christmas miracle to help Lane decide between following her heart and leaving her dreams behind.
My Review: 4 Stars
Lane finds herself in Ocean Harbor for her Christmas break helping her Aunt Darla get her hot cocoa shop back on track after her illness. Her hope is with all the new hot cocoa recipes they have come up with, it will help them win the Christmas competition. But her nemesis, Macie has other plans. She will stop at nothing to ruin Lane's plans, including have her brother, Logan, spy on them.
One mistake and Logan has himself rethinking what he agreed to do for his sister. But in his defense, his sister is evil and she has her ways of getting people to do exactly what she wants them to do. But once was enough and Logan refuses to do it again. There is just something about Lane. Something that draws him to her. Her smile, her kindness, the light that shines from within. He just wants to spend as much time with her as possible.
Lane tells herself that she doesn't have time for romance. Between the competition and trying to figure out how she can live up to her family's motto, romance is the furthest thing from her mind. But Logan can be persistent. The more time they spend together, the more he opens her eyes and helps her to see what she really wants out of life.
Can she ignore what her heart wants and live her family's dream? Or will she give in to what truly makes her happy and take that leap of faith? A leap that will not only lead her to happiness but to love and a HEA.
*dreamy sigh*

I have really enjoyed all of Ms. Houston's books! They have been read over and over again! I can't wait to see where she takes us next!
And yes... I know this isn't Ms. Houston's casting... but this is who I saw while reading.
